Oh and there's quite a selection just there, as well as the Yacht/Beach/Boardwalk.

I do think the app has replaced the casual walk up. Been going since 1977...regularly since 1989...and for a party of 2-4, willing to eat later, not a peak travel times, a lot is possible. And if you are really enjoying F & W, having a lot of ADRs can really feel like punishment.

We tend to do off times anyway, so it won't be too bad for us. We just got back from a 3pm "lupper" with friends. I'm really excited to use the app and visit F&W.

I personally would never go without ADRs anymore. October has become a more popular time to go with many schools now offering fall breaks and MNSSHP bringing a lot of families there at that time. In 2013 we went and were able to get into a few less popular places like Chefs in Epcot, but we still made ADRs for more popular choices. Nowadays with FP+ I say ALWAYS make them. People preplan a lot more than they used to and there's nothing more miserable than bopping from place to place trying to find a sit down meal or getting stuck with QS every meal. Sometimes you'll get lucky, but I'm not much one to gamble when it comes to Disney trips! Have fun! And don't worry if you already missed the prime window, always check back for cancellations!
