How much would this house cost where you live?

I guess I live in the wrong place too! Here in my city that would be $350K easy and in my parents suburban town it would be $450-500K easy. All the houses I've been looking at lately are in the $300K range. I'll be broke!

Our town only has one subdivision, so these older houses and neighborhoods don't really compete for sales.

This is a pretty desireable neighborhood to live in, and unfortunately, the house will be long gone by the time we're ready to buy. :(

It's $87,500.

We're looking to spend around $100K, and that ought to buy us a BIG ol' house!

What area are you in? I'm guessing "rust belt" like me, where DH and I just built 2,550 sq. ft. for under 250,000. We definately haven't seen some of the crazy real estate prices that some markets have been living with for quite a while now. His grandmother's 50+ year old house in Summit NJ is up for sale at 650,000 and it's not even half the size of ours. That's nuts!

Depending on location and square footage, about $250,000 here assuming its in the East End. Put it in the South End, and the same house would run about 189,900...

What state is this house in ??? Here in Central Mass. , I would say it would probably be around $350,000 or more. :sunny:

I would guess $350-$400,000 in Southeastern PA
You can't put an addition on a house here for 87,500 :rotfl2:

Probably somewhere in around 300-400k, though that would apply to this suburb - it's very subjective and pretty much depends on the street it's on.

In my neighborhood, about 300k. In other parts of the county, probably 500k.

Wow! I would say at least 250-300K here. Does it have central air?
The difference in prices between this part of PA and western PA where I'm from originally are amazing!

ok. I am moving to your town..I couldnt buy a shack here in NJ for 87,500.

In my county, start it at 800K and that's in a so so town. Great town, make it 950.

OMG! Where is it that you live? I think I want to go there.

There is a really big 100 year old house in my small town. They tried to make it a B& B, but failed. It's listed for $800k and is still for sale 4 years later.

Hard to say without a few more details - but I'm guessing about $150,000.

I'll echo this! My sister sold a tiny house in Franklin County PA last year for over 100,000 when she had only paid 83,000 for it 2 years earlier. They're getting Washington DC and Harrisburg sprawl out there.

Probably about 2 million here. This area of California is insane. I live in a $800,000 1,600 sq. ft townhouse.

West Village @ Manhattan ... the land beneath it would be worth easily $10M. There's no way the house would stand. It would be demolished to make room for a high-rise! :)

you can't even buy a lot with a cardboard box on it for $87,500 around here....

Not for $100K either......

Where i used to live in Williamsport, PA it probably would have been worth the $87,5 or more depending on which neighborhood it was in and if it needed any upgrades. Having owned a 100 yr old house once, I can say that sometimes lots of stuff can creep up. (leeky roof, chimney issues, plumbing, old electrical wiring (knob and tube) or just needing more circuits to accomodate todays appliances.

It does look like a cute house though.....

depending on the area - it would start at $750K and anywhere over a million.
