How much will a 5 day Park Hopper Pass Cost? if......

When we arrive, on our first day, we are going to the Animal Kingdom.
I guess we'll go to "guest relations" or "ticket counter??" and
"trade in" our 1 day that's left on our old 1999 park hopper passes.

We need 5 days for wdw. Does anyone know how much that one day is worth from 1999?

Also, we're going to Typhoon Lagoon and DisneyQuest. Is there a better deal/value w/ another type of park hopper that i'm unaware of??

I don't think a plus from a hopper pass will get you into Disney Quest - only the UPH has the bonus. We'll be using our AP to get a discount on admission, though.

You'll go to the Guest Relations window to the left of the turnstiles to do that.

The credit is based on what you actually paid for the ticket. You can do a close approximation by making a fraction. Say you have one day left on what was originally a five day pass. You would have a credit of 1/5 or 20% of your original purchase price. Do the math to suit what you have.

If you get a 5 day PHP instead of a 5 day PH, your admission to TL would be included. But the only tickets that include DQ are UPH and PAP, both of which would cost you a lot more money than just paying the one day DQ admission separately.

You may not want to trade in your old PH pass that has one day on it. Use it instead. As Golden Oldie said (and she is the expert), you'll only get 20% of what you paid for it in 1999. Current ticket prices are higher and you may be better off using that day from the 1999 passes and buying a 4 day PH. Of course, if you need the plusses, it may make sense to trade it in for a 5 day PHP. However, you'll need to do the math. The 5 day PHP has 2 plusses. You'll have to figure out if it's cheaper to trade in the old PH with one day left and get a 5 day PHP, or use that extra day and buy a 4 day PH and a single admission to TL.

Two other thoughts:

1) You may want to think about using the extra day on the old ticket and buying a 5 day PHP since the days never expire. Any leftover days and/or plusses could be used for future trips.

2) There is a discount on these tickets if you buy in advance from Disney. There is also a discount if you but from AAA or an online ticket broker like www.ticketmania.com. You won't be able to trade in your old PH ticket if you do this, but it may still be cheaper than trading in the ticket and buying a 5 day PHP at the gate.

Unfortunately, you'll have to do all the math. Just think, back in high school we all wondered why we had to learn all that math stuff .

I don't need the plus stuff. I'll pay for TL and Dis.Quest. separately.

I don't want to spend more than i need, and based on the 8 full days we have i think i can only do 5 days at wdw (plus one nite at MNSSHP)

If it were me, I'd purchase a 4 day PHP from Maple Leaf ($226 plus $4.95 S&H) or Ticketmania ($227 incl shipping). It would be cheaper than getting a plain 4 day PH from Disney and paying separately for TL ($215.13 for PH plus $33.02 for TL ticket).

The 4 day PHP would get you into the main parks for four days and the one plus would be your TL admission. Then you would just pay for DQ separately.

We got the 4 day PHP from hotwire savings club for $204.43 each. The club costs $7.95 per month, but the first month is free.....buy what you want, then quit at no cost! They also sell the meal vouchers there as well.
