How much weight do you gain on DDP?

:scared1: Just curious. The opportunities to overindulge seem endless. Can't wait.

I lost 4 lbs. DH gained 2. I didn't try to maximize the plan, we split many, many counter service meals. I often sampled my TS dessert but didn't finish it. I drank water with most meals even though a beverage is included.

The 14 miles/day of walking worked off the rest!!

I actually lost one. My college aged son gained 8 pounds. Could be because my daughter and I fed him most of our desserts and appetizers as well as some snacks. I think that if everyone just eats what they are due all of the walking pretty much evens out the calories.

LOL good question..want an honest answer?
ok..here goes...when going down there before, we would find a buffet most nights, eat breakfast and dinner only, rarely had snacks or soda in the park...broke even or sometimes lost a pound or 2.

This last trip, had the free dining plan...i gained...ready? 20 POUNDS. :scared1: I ate stuff I normally don't. got the appetizer i never get, the desert i never get etc.

it did come right off after being home a couple of weeks though so live it up LOL

We just returned from 10 days of the Dining Plan. I ate anything I wanted without regard to calories and I gained 1 pound. Now, I am a water drinker, so I did not drink sodas. I also shared a few counter service meals. I took my pedometer with us and we walked anywhere between 5 and 10 miles a day at least.

We did not gain any and we did not over eat just because we were on the plan. We had salads mostly for appetizers, and desserts to go, or fruit. I don't over eat when I go to a buffet so I don't over eat on the DDP.

I lost a couple of pounds. I'm not sure I've kept the two pounds off, though... it might have been a temporary fluxuation.

Usually I lose a few (1-3). I did have one vacation where we had the DDP for 11 nights and I gained like 8 pounds, I think it may have had more to do with humidity, wine and water retention (I know too much information) than "real" weight though because it came off plus a few extra once I got home and took a water pill!

I always lose weight at WDW. I'm not a snacker at all, and the extra walking takes care of the extra food. If only I could keep up with the walking when I'm not on vacation!

I ate well for 6 days last summer. I gain weight easily, but didn't gain a pound! We walked it off! We didn't eat all the counter desserts, but we enjoyed the TS desserts!

I'm on weight watchers and was really nervous about this too.
I didn't gain, but it was hard to resist the temptation. I would refuse the desserts and the CM's are like "well you get it for free, just take it" I had to be stern and insist I didn't want it. And heard this..."you don't have to eat it now, it comes in a package...just take it for later"....just refuse...it's hard...:goodvibes

5 pounds in 10 days. I'm healthy and in shape and, but no amount of walking will counteract the DDP. Cardio would, but who in their right mind could do 2+ hours of cardio after a day in the parks? Not I!

Stayed just about the same on the trip that was with the DDP.

This past trip, without DDP I gained 4 pounds. We snacked all day and while the DDP was way too much food, I probably ate healthier on it. Though granted the reason for going sans DDP was to enjoy F&W. I'm sure those 3 nights was the majority of the gain! :drinking1:drinking1:drinking1:drinking1

3 pounds in 6 days. Didn't finish all the food on my plate ever but did indulge in desserts, fat loaded snacks (like ice cream cookie sandwich) and alcoholic beverages.

:) I have the willpower of a golden retriever and have never been able to say no to chocolate. I may have to tie bricks to my ankles to work off the chocolate wave cake.
Thanks,
jackie

What a great thread! My DH and I starting doing the Dr. Oz/Dr. Roizen "YOU on a Diet" plan (they've been on Oprah alot lately). We've been doing it for 5 weeks now, only cheating on one meal per week, we've each lost about 10 lbs. so far. When we started this I told DH that all bets are off during our trip--I'm eating ice cream, pie, french fries, pizza and all the "bad" stuff. But actually, most of the TS restaurants have really heathy, yummy choices. I can't wait to indulge!

I'm reading the best desserts as I eat yogurt and lowfat cereal. There is plenty of time to undue the damage after the DDP. I'm pretty sure creme brulee is not on Bob Greene's best life diet.

Last September, both my DM and myself basically, stayed the same. We were surprised, but like others before us mentioned, we shared some meals, took our desserts back to our room for late night snack, or breakfast, and we walked (and swam) alot!

Conversely, we've been back now about 5 months and I've regained the pounds I lost prior to going. :confused3 So, I figure, in about a month, or so, I'll have to reconcentrate my efforts, to lose a some pounds before we go back in September.
