How much weight did you gain while on the DDP?

Just curious. Did you gain any weight while you were on the DDP? If so, how much? I'm afraid that 5 days on the DDP will wreck havoc on all the hard work I've been doing to eat healthy and maintain a healthy weight.

I know that there will be a lot of walking involved at WDW but with all the goodies available to eat, I'm afraid walking won't be enough to burn off all those yummy snacks and desserts. And "diet" is CERTAINLY a four-letter word during a Disney vacation. :rotfl:

8 pounds in 8 days! :scared1: We did eat at buffets a LOT, though, since DS is 2 and ate for free at the buffets. There were several days that we ate at buffets twice! I think some of the weight also came from the sodium in the food. We're not big salt users and some of the food tasted really salty to me.

I swear you can look at our photos and watch the weight slowly creep up on me! :rotfl:

We generally end up walking 6-8 miles/day at WDW. But this time we're supposed to 'relax'. I'm worried about all the food and wine and food now.

Yes, a cycle here. We work all year and gain it all back in a week and a half. We get home, and start all over. This past trip was the worst for me. Gained 9 lbs. I didn't eat that bad either, just too much. I usually drink a protein shake for lunch, not meal with dessert. I did only drink water and plain ice tea too. I was shocked by the end of the week I could barely button my shorts.

we were there for 5 days/4 nights in May...hubby & I were totally on low-carb diet -absolutely no cheats! No desserts, no treats, no bread/potatoes/rice/noodles. Basically bacon & eggs, steaks/salad, unbreaded fish, plain green vegs, and so on.

We still gained...6 lbs for me, 8 lbs for hubby. In 5 days. I guess there is lots of salt & hidden sugar in WDW food.It tasted good, anyway.

I guess it depends on your normal workout routine and eating habits too. I am semi-active but don't work out per say at home. With all the walking I NEVER gain weight in disney. I normally come home the same or less.

This last trip we were there 7 days on dxdp and I was pregnant. I actually lost 5lbs and got yelled at by the ob when I got back! :confused3 I ate like a PIG but apparently the walking did me in!

I average 6 lbs. every trip! Now I am in Orlando for two weeks one of them being of the DDP. I have lost over 80lbs. and maintain a good weight but boy do I notice it buttoning up my pants at the end of the trip!! But I have to say I go back with the same its VACATION mindset every year and dont regret a thing.:)

We are very active while at WDW and never gain weight. We actually always seem to lose some. I can't really say why as we certainly eat a whole lot more than we would at home! I can only think it's all the walking. :confused3

We actually lost a pound or two on our last trip. We where on DDP for 7 days but we walked more then we'd ever walked in our lives.

We did 10 days DxDP last year, TS every meal except for 1 or 2 at beginning and end of trip, appetizers and desserts at every meal LOL I felt like a pig but I gained 2 lbs. We walked all day and relaxed at the pool, wading around, swimming, treading water, and it all helped. I was shocked that I did not gain more!

my husband and i consistently lose weight at disney, even with the dining plan! we usually do the regular ddp but this next time have decided to spring for deluxe since we like eating at signature restaurants. of course ddxp offers an appetizer AND dessert with each meal, so i don't know if we will be so lucky this time around! but generally i find that the constant movement evens things out- we walk and walk and walk and walk and it really pays off.

I usually maintain my weight @ WDW and/or lose a lb or 2. I make a conscious effort to "eat like normal" whenever possible and really limit "treats" (desserts, ice cream, etc). Of course I'm human and at Disney so I eat things I normally wouldn't, but I am aware of eating times and what is convenient vs what is fuel for my body. It's amazing if you really think before you buy something that you will go out of your way to make a better decision.

Of course rice krispy treats, popcorn and Mickey Ice Cream bars always put a kink in my plan :rotfl2:

I have never gained weight at WDW either. All that walking really helps to burn a lot of calories in the parks especially if its hot.

10 lbs on our last 7 day, 6 night trip. I guess I’m the big winner. We walked all day every day, but I still put on 10 lbs. We made the most of our dining plan though. We always ordered just about the most expensive thing on the menu.

The last time we went to WDW, the dining plan (there was only one option then) was a little more than $30 per person. That was seven years ago. Now the dining plan is over $50. What’s with that? I think the dining plan is getting a little too pricey for us.

I lost four pounds.

We were on the regular dining plan with the one table service a day. I would order an app (not included on DP), entree and dessert. Also, I drink lots of coca cola while there (yes, not healthy).

I think with all the walking (although its not cardio walking) and all of the lets go...go...go..., it was easy for me.

Its surprising because I have a hard time losing weight.

We have been twice for 7 nights on the Deluxe dining plan have not gained either trip.

On our first trip, 10 days on the QSDP with 2 snacks a day per person and lots of desserts I gained 4 pounds and DH gained 7 pounds. The 2 adults only trips I haven't gained anything but DH has gained 3 or 4 pounds each time. Next trip, 8 days on the DDP I might gain a few but I doubt it. I try to eat as normally as I would at home with the occasional treat or dessert but if I do gain a few I lose them almost instantly as soon as I get home and go back to healthy eating habits.

DH doesn't gain weight from over-eating he gains weight from WHAT he is eating. AT home he is very health conscious and into weight training and working out and eats very lean and clean, but when we go on vacation he eats all kinds of junk he would not normally eat. He loses it really fast though just like I did.

From what I hear going on a cruise will make you gain way more weight than going to Disney but I have heard of ppl actually gaining a pound a day while they are at Disney.
