How Much Trouble Can We Get Into Alone? What If I Pay Extra?

I can't believe I didn't make it until page 3! :sad2: Oh well, at least I made it. I can't wait to hear all the plans for the trip.

Terri

The website is restaurant.com - then type in the zip you are looking for - I used 32830

Then I used the discount TOUCHDOWN to get the 80% off code.

They need to be bought by Sep. 13th but have a year to use them. Some places have $50 discounts but you need to order $100 of menu items to get the $50 off.

Those are on sale for $4!!!!!!!!!

I might just buy more and use them next summer sometime. To feed a whole family OOP for $50 is not bad!

I think we will do this. It makes financial sense and I do not know how it will not be cheaper.

If I find out how it is more expensive after we get there...I will let you all know!!!

Dawn - Before you buy the coupons call the restaurants you are interested in and make sure they still honor them. I've used restaurant dot com a lot and it's a great deal, but a couple of times we have discovered that the restaurant we went to no longer participated in the program. That turned into a big old bummer. It hasn't happened often but it is something to check into first.

Terri

I am a FREAKING GENIUS!!!

Okay...slightly above average but whose counting. :confused3 ;)

So.....I did call and the restaurants do use the coupons so we are good to go. Thanks for having me check TeeDee. :worship:

Then I started looking at some local fave's. Discount applied and we can have a nicer meal a Tepanyaki Rest. w/ Treyner during Christmas at 1/2 off and a Diners Drive Ian's and Dives Italian Feast as well. Good planning ahead.

Then I went to look at Anderson and there was not much.

Then I went to Charleston since we will be there and as I was perusing....

HOLY SMOKES BATMAN....I saw a Rest. that is just a 4 minute walk from the House we are renting. Nice, upscale place that Dan and I tossed around the idea of before using for the dinner.

Well guess what folks...

Dawn called, acted as if I already had the coupons, (which were on hold in the hopper) and talked to my new, main man Travis about using them in the Rest for a party of 12-20. Explained to him the deal on the small wedding and he said that we could not use it for a banquet room, but he had no problems using
4 - $50 off coupons per $100 for the main dining. :dance3:

He also assured me he would have us in a prime, secluded spot overlooking the ocean and we can eat around 8:30 and will be good to go. I can also bring in a cake since they do not have a bakery onsite and he gave me the name of a cake caterer they often use for weddings.

That's right folks...I just saved $200 off my wedding dinner!!!!! :cool1: For a OOP cost of $12....not a bad trade!!!!

Can anything more go right in my life today????

I am scared to walk outside.

Seriously. :thumbsup2

Not kidding. :lmao:

I am too excited to eat!!!!

That is a first!!!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl:

Dining Plan at the time we are going will run $94 per day plus tax.

That's crazy talk, woman!!! I wouldn't get the dining plan, myself, even without the restaurant deal that you found.

But you are getting advice from the budget-girl, that stays off site and eats meals in the hotel room!:rotfl:

The dining plan is only "a good deal" if in fact, you eat that much worth of food during a day.

I have to agree here. :thumbsup2

ETA: If you go to the Garden Grove, take lots of pics. I have always wanted to go there to eat with Rafiki and Timon! (You'll have to check to see who's going to be there when you go.)

good for you on the wedding deal...on the certificates for local restaurants it says on there one certificate per table/ one certificate per month per account from resturants.com.....just make sure you take down that guys name that told you that so you dont have a problem later. I know when you redeem the certificate the person from the restaurant calls the number on it and verifys the certificate. Great news for you !

Hi guys -
Jess - I called Rest.com and what they said was yes, it is only good for one restaurant per month. But I can give them as gifts and then, it is up to the Rest. to decide if they will allow more than one ticket for the meals. Technically not supposed to be seated at the same time but again, up to the restaurant.

Since I talked with Travis and you bet I wrote his name in my planner, I will get it in writing when we are there in October.

They are looking at a $500 bill at least on a Tuesday night probably and it is part of a hotel so we will get guests to stay there that are not at our house, so I am sure thus the reason it is not a problem.

You can use as many certificates a month as you want but you must wait 30 days before eating at the same place twice.

So that is the extra info I found out. Thanks for making sure I caught that!

I would volunteer to do a teenager check!! As long as I can see Kizzy in person!

You two make me and DH look like amateurs with all your driving trips down from MN! Of course, it also makes us look a little less crazy! Thanks!

Hey Dan!!! Looks like you're going to have fun on this trip! It should be a nice getaway!

A teenager check is a good idea...after all I know what an :littleangel: I was at that age .....:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Wow, what a great deal from rest.com!!!

Now to look up if they have the same thing for Canadian restaurants. That would be awesome!

WOW - you just started this thread yesterday and you already are on page 4?? I'm just starting, so I need to go back and catch up. Looking forward to reading about your plans!

Hey Dawn, all caught up. Love the plans so far and the wedding plans are coming together as well.

Regarding FPs. The end time on the passes are not enforced. Let's say you have a FP for Soarin from 10:00am - 11:00am on October 16. As long as you use the pass on October 16 you can redeem it at any time after 10:00am. I've used them at 9:00pm at night and not had any issues. Which might be how some people have FPs stack up. Run around like a mad person in the morning trying to rack up as many FPs as possible and then use them in the evening. It works much easier at DL since the attractions are so much closer. I can honestly say that we have NEVER used any of the FPs that we've pulled at WDW. We get them and then by the time we can use them we are too far away from the ride and then by the time we are near the ride we're too darned tired to go on the ride so we pass on them to someone else.

Costume suggestion - I'm going as a Mousekeeter (as in Annette and Cubby) from the Mickey Mouse Club. Female: Pleated skirt (school uniform) and white mock turtleneck shirt with name, black shoes with white socks. Male: slacks with white mock turtleneck shirt with name. Oh, and ears.

I wish we were staying one day later so we could do a meet....:sad2:

Dawn, just jumped onboard and all caught up. My sister does a survey thing in DC and has 2 $25 gift certs for Yak and Yeti, hope they take both or we will get seperate checks.

Yay for the flights!!!!!!:cheer2:
KIM

Dawn - I'm glad everything is working out so well for you, that's really awesome! I'm in a pretty darn good mood myself, take a look at my countdown!! The very long awaited trip is almost here!

I hope they do. Let us know!

Hey Dawn, all caught up. Love the plans so far and the wedding plans are coming together as well.

Regarding FPs. The end time on the passes are not enforced. Ah-ha...see I just follow the times it says to come back...never assumed you can get around that. Which is stupid on their part. Explains why there are long lines in the FP area at times.

Very cute - have to see pics!

I wanted to come in the 11th but hard to justify with all the extra going on.
Yay for the flights!!!!!!:cheer2:
KIM
Thanks and I hope your Yak turns out! :lmao:
Go buy a lottery ticket while you're at it!
I would be the person who ends up getting robbed at the convenience store...BTW - saw on the news that they have found many states re having issues with clerks, lying to the customers saying they did not win and then turn around and claim the ticket when the customer says chuck it.

So they say to check online to see if you win, do not trust the store to be honest and write your name on the ticket as soon as you buy it so you have proof it is yours.

I...will do that if I ever buy a ticket, which I never have. :rotfl2:

Terri

I saw that yesterday!!!! I bet you can't sleep. I know I won't be able to!!! :cool1:

I finally made it over here... Geesh!!!

~ Congrats on the AirTran flights!!! Score!!!

~ Congrats on the resturant.com certificates for the wedding supper... Major score!!!

Sounds like even the karma gods want you and Dan to get married!!! :rotfl:

:faint: so I am almost caught up on your TR and then get to the part with a PTR link :headache:
Going back to finish where I was and then I'll be back :thumbsup2

I have a costume idea for you guys! Because I have been struggling with our idea for next year. I thought of it when I was watching Mickey Mouse clubhouse with Ellie before school this morning. You could go as Mickey and Minnie. Then you just wear ear headbands and t-shirts! Dawn-you could wear a skirt if you wanted, or shorts if not! Its kinda boring, but I just can't see getting Brent to wear much more than that when its hot.

And I know you and Dan will have such a great time on your solo-couple trip. Brent and I had SO much fun it was ridiculous! There was no one else to please but ourselves and we acted like big kids and didn't have the real kids saying "Stop it you're embarassing us!" We ate wherever we felt like without a consensus and rode whatever we wanted without listening to whining about how so and so doesn't want to ride. I love going with the kids, but I loved going without them, too!

I was going to suggest you ditch the dining plan but you must have received my message subliminally because you already did ;) Great deal for Shula's :woohoo: And also you are there during F&W so there are many new things to try there too. A suggestion on F&W: there are cards available (like gift cards if you will) that you can purchase with "x" amount of money....I would get one if you plan on spending a lot of time walking around WS because then you are not whipping out $5 here and there every 10 steps. Much more convenient. :thumbsup2
Also at MNSSHP there are not a lot of options open for food. If you are going to eat at CHH I would suggest already being in the park that day.
So great that you are flying and that you are spending some time with Shann  I have two friends meeting me down there as a continuing "celebration" for my 40th in a few weeks even though my birthday was last week ;) Can't think of a better place to celebrate. :goodvibes
