How much travel time?

At this time next week I'll be in Disney!!!!!!!! :yay: Ok, I just had to get that out! Now on to my question.

We have several days planned where we're at either Magic Kingdom or Animal Kingdom and have dinner reservations at Epcot. How much time would you set aside to travel between the parks? 30 min? 45 min? An hour? We've never done any sit down restaurants, let alone having one planned for each day so I'm not quite sure about all the particulars. Thanks!

45-60 from MK
60-75 minutes for AK

From MK you should plan on a 15 minute walk to the monorail station, a 5 minute wait for the monorail, a 5 minute monorail ride to the Epcot monorail, a 5 minute wait for that monorail, another 5 minute monorail ride and a 15 minute walk to a World Showcase Restaurant. We usually give ourselves about 15 minutes extra just in-case.

From AK you should plan on a 10 minute walk to the bus, a 15 minute wait for a bus, a 15 minute bus ride and a 15 minute walk to a World Showcase Restaurant. We usually give ourselves about 15 minutes extra just in-case.

If you are in fact booked at World Showcase restaurants (as opposed to Garden Grill or Coral Reef which are in Future World), take the Yacht Club/Beach Club or the Boardwalk Inn/Villas bus from AK to that hotel, and either walk or take the boat to the International Gateway at Epcot - you'll walk into the park in between Britain and France, and from there it's a quick walk to many of the more popular WS restaurants.

If you take transportation (monorail or bus) from another park to Epcot, you will arrive at the main gates and will then have to walk through Future World to get to the World Showcase, and if you are headed for a restaurant in, say, France or Japan, you'll have to traverse the longest path inside the park to get there.

HTH :thumbsup2

Great advice, thanks! Do you have an idea of how long it takes to get from AK to World Showcase?

Haven't done it ourselves in the last couple of trips, but I would allow 20-25 minutes once you are on the bus from AK to get to the Beach Club, and less than ten minutes to walk into the International Gateway from there.

Similar timing for using the bus to Boardwalk Inn from AK, and similar walk time through the hotel and into the gate at the Gateway at Epcot.

Since the speed of movement once you are off the bus and walking toward Epcot's gateway is all up to you, the only variable would be how long you have to wait on that bus in front of AK.

I'd give myself 45-50 minutes from getting aboard the bus at AK bus depot to be inside the gate at Epcot.
