When I worked in a hotel (about 5 years ago though) Housekeeping said that they usually rec'd $1 per bed. NOw of course sometimes they would receive a big tip ($10-20). I usually follow that rule. If I feel like I rec'd excellent service I leave a bigger tip! Now, at that hotel they switched rooms every day, so the person getting the tip may not have been the person cleaning the room. But, every hotel is different. That settles it,I had planned a nice thank you at the end of our stay but want to make sure the right staff gets it. I am gonna call mousekeeping at DLH and find out...(pause for phone call...)Okay I'm back . After speaking with an extremely inpatient and rude front desk person at DLH I was switched to Mouskeeping. The woman I spoke with (Maria) said that each Mousekeeper has the same rooms unless they are on their day off ,in which case someone else cleans it. i told her why I was calling and she suggested either leaving a tip each day, or upon checkout leaving the mousekeepers name on an envelope (with tip) at the front desk. That way the right person is sure to get it!Good idea! Oddly I don't know if this was much help. HOpe so!!
