How much is it the rent Disney's equipment for camping? I am still trying to get the family to go to the Fort. If I can get the 20 somethings to tent camp...it might be affordable for all. And Fun.

Has anyone done it?

To the best of my limited knowledge, they do not rent equipment @ the Fort.

In the fall of 2006, I rented a tent from Disney at FW and it was pretty darn nice. At that time, the tents cost $33.75/night in addition to the camp space rental. Here is the Disney phone number to rent a tent: 1.407.939.7807 -- you will want to select option #4 for group camping -- which seems odd but at least it worked for me. I understand they also have folding cots for $5/night.

Good Luck!:thumbsup2

Group camping is the department that handles the tent rentals. Their actual policy is for groups of 10 or more, but they will rent to individuals if there is availability of the equipment.

Thanks for the info...I guess we will just have to wait and see. It will just be 2 young adults, us old folks will be in the cabin. :) I am just trying to figure out a way to have space for everyone and not cost an arm and a leg. And I prefer the Fort.

You realize that if you put up a tent it will have to be on a separate site in a different loop.

Also at those rental prices you could get a fairly nice tent at Walmart for them for the price of less than 2 days of rental. Oh and you will also need some sort of mattress/bedding.

I realize that they would be "not near" to us. There young, they can walk over. I already was thinking about buying a tent. I also thought about putting them up at a value resort but I think we would miss out on the "family" aspect. I could see trying to meet up with them constantly and have it never happen.

Thanks for info

there's a thread around from the last day or so that talks about the closest camping loop to a cabin loop.

When I read this the first time, I thought sure you were saying you might put the tents up at a value resort!!! :rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao: There are some nice open areas over at the All Star.......

That would be funny. Could you see that. I would put right next the Big Wheel at the POP!!!!

I will look up that thread about tent loops and cabin loops. If I wasn't so stubborn we could all stay somewhere else....but I really like the Fort. Once you go the "fort" you never go back.
