I was just wondering how much it will cost to renew my son's power pass. This is the one that is $99. Also, can you renew online?

It is $99 plus tax to renew both a Preferred Annual Pass and a Power Pass. You can renew online or over the phone by calling the phone number on the back of his pass.

ETA: The Power pass now costs $119.95 to purchase right now and $99 ro renew within 30 days of pass expiration.

The website to renew is: http://themeparks.universalstudios.com/orlando/website/annualpass/login.php
There is a login box in the top right hand corner. Just login and you should be able to renew there.

Just curious, if we purchased the monthly AP plan, can we renew it (the $179 annual pass that we bought for 15 a month) for the $99 or do we have to continue the monthly?

You have to make sure you cancel the flex-pay before it automatically renews each year. Then you can renew for $99 if you make the full payment. You just can't renew for $99 using flexpay. So cancel and then renew.

Thanks per usual phamton

Can You Upgrade from Power pass to Annual Pass for $99 at your time to renew?

I assume it would be more than $99 to renew a power pass with an Premium AP upgrade. I know if you have a valid Power pass and want to upgrade to a Premium it is $60 plus tax. But this is if your Power Pass hasn't expired.

So it must be more than $99 to renew because it would also be an upgrade and a renewal. I'd suggest you call the number on the back of your pass and find out. It might not even be possible but I really don't know. I'll try and found out.
what's up fellow Brandon resident? :) yes, you can upgrade for the same rate.
Are you sure about that? It doesn't make sense because to renew a Power Pass is $99. Why would anyone do that if they can renew it and upgrade to a PAP for the same price?

I misread. the renewal price the same between the 2 passes. PP is $119.00, the AP $179.00. of course you have to pay the difference between the 2 passes, I though he was asking if there was an upcharge to renew TO the AP. we have friends that have recently upgraded to the AP's from the PP's based on the discounts they've seen us get.

sorry for the confusion.

Let me see if I got this straight. It is $99 to renew both a power pass and a premium pass. But if you have a power pass and want the premium, you must pay to upgrade first ($60) then pay $99 to renew.

Bought PAP @ Universal on 12/13/04. When is the last day I can use it this year (12/12 or 12/13)? Assume it must be renewed before expiration.

Can I sign up on-line w/monthly payments?

Can this also be done @ the ticket window?

Can I tie in additional new AP's for my family on the monthly plan?

Is there any discount if I just pay for theirs upfront? TIA

Yes, that is correct.

But if you have a power pass and want the premium, you must pay to upgrade first ($60) then pay $99 to renew.

That is the part that we don't know. I suggest you call the number on the back of your powerpass to find out how much it would cost.

What I am saying is if your power pass hasn't expired you can upgrade to the Premium pass at anytime for $60.

If you bought it on 12/13/04, I assuming it expires in 365 days which would be 12/12. Call the number on the back of your AP to find out the expiration date. You can renew for $99 within 30 days of when your pass expires.

The flex-pay is only available with a new pass not one you have already purchased. You can get a new pass when your expires using Flexpay but you will be paying full price not the $99 renewal price. if you want to use Flexpay to purchase other APs say for your family, then you can sign up online.

Can this also be done @ the ticket window?

Yes.

Yes. You can buy as many APs as you choose using flex-pay. It is all on one contract. So only one payment is charged to your credit car monthly.

No the price is the same whether you pay in full or using flex-pay. Universal doesn't charge interest with flexpay but your credit card may.

If you have other questions about flexpay see: http://themeparks.universalstudios.com/orlando/website/annualpass/login.php

I was not aware that the flexpay automatically renews. Does it renew when activated or from the date of purchase ? I am trying to determine when I have to cancel the flexpay so I can take advantage of the $99 renewal fee.

Thanks for your help !!! :goodvibes :goodvibes

I'm not absolutely sure but I think it just keepscharging the credit card monthly. So if you had the first charge say Jan 1 it would just continue to charge every month. Your best bet is to call the phone number on the back of your annual pass to let them know you don't want to renew. Your AP should be good until one year from when you activated it though.

I believe you have to cancel any renewal in writing but they can tell you when you call them.

phantom - thanks for answering all my questions.

I'm not sure if it's me or whether it has something to do with how my computer security is set-up, but I have a heck of a time accessing the AP login page. I know it's not my pass info (since I use a program that remembers it & auto complets it). Somedays I can access, more often not?

Also, it surprises me that I've never received any type of newsletter or promo from Universal. I do receive the general offers via e-mail, but nothing directed to passholders...am I missing out on anything?

You can read the newsletters online if you can log on to the AP page. The newsletters come out about every three months. I usually get mine but never seem to get my AP newsletter from Disney. I do know that many others have had the same problem getting AP newsletters. I'd suggest you call and see what the problem is.
