how much to plan

We are going to disney next nov. Our kids will be 2 1/2. How much should we plan in advance as far as PS and character meals. At this age is it better to just see how the days go. thanks

I like to have an idea of which park we will be in each day, and any PSs that I definitely want to do, (with 2.5 year olds Crystal Palace would be great!) but other than that I would just go with how the kids are doing. I wouldn't plan a lot of fancy sit-down meals because although they are wonderful, they really aren't worth the expense when you are eating with kids.

My grandkids are 7 & 8 ... so they can go longer than 2½ y.o. ... but I usually just decide what parks I want to be in each day, then I usually make one PS reservation per day ... usually breakfast or lunch.

That way I don't have to worry about taking exhausted kids out for dinner. The one exception is dinner at Chef Mickey's ... the day we have ps's for CM I usually take the kids to one of the waterparks.

We tried to have one sit down meal a day.. But sometimes it was dinner in our room. We went with only 2 reservastions and did just fine.. I do reccomend 50's prime time cafe. They do a great job with the kids and it is a lot of fun.. also if you can arrive early and sometimes they will seat you early...

Also Chef Mickeys is great! We went for breakfast on our last day and then stayed at the MK till it closed..

I planned an itinerary of what we were going to do each day and of course we deviated from that slightly once we arrived. I was bummed that I didn't make PS at a couple places we really wanted to eat at, and they had nothing available the whole time we were there, so I think I will plan our meals a little better next time.
