How much $$$ to do laundry on site?

Does anyone know how much it costs to use the washers and dryers at the Disney resorts? I am planning to bring my own detergent and softener, but I also want to bring along enough quarters to do a few loads while we are there so we don't have to pack as many clothes.

Does anyone know this, and do you think it is the same amount at each resort? We haven't finalized our choice, but I know we will definitely be staying at two different resorts.

$1.00 for washer/$1.00 dryer (you will need need 2 dryer cycles)
(FYI also $1.00 for 1 load of Tide but OP is bringing own)

At ASMO it was $2 to wash, $2 to dry and $1 each for boxes of detergent (tide) and softner (downey)- think prices are the same at all resorts.

I had to run the clothes dryer twice to get them dry.

Ditto Padme's reply for the cost. And it definitely takes at least two runs of the dryer to get a small to medium load dry. (Oh, and this was at the Contemporary). Try to wash at "off times." Sometimes there weren't any machines available when we needed them.

To save money, we went to our local laundry mat and purchased "1 load" sized detergents. they were like 50 cents a box there. When we got to disney they were a couple of bucks. So I'm glad I brought them along!

Now see, it never occured to me to go to the local laundromat (here in TX they are sometimes called washaterias ) to get the small boxes. I look in stores but can't find them. Gotta love the DIS!

If you don't happen to have a laundrymat near you and want the travel tide or cheer you can get them at a place called www.minimus.biz they are .65 a piece. They have all kinds of travel items there and shipping is free after 20.00 which believe it or not is easy to do getting travel deoderant, toothpast ect... Just in case anyone is interested

At Target they have the travel size things of Tide for $1.00. They do 4 loads of laundry. That is what I bring every year.
