Hi - we will be arriving between 10 a.m. - noon on a Friday and have 7:40 p.m. ressie at the Flying Fish cafe. I assume our room will not be ready when we arrive. Is there enough to do at the Boardwalk the first day, or should we plan on doing a little of the Boardwalk as well as Downtown Disney the first day. Also, are we better off driving our car to these locations or taking the bus? We will be staying at the All Star Movies and will definitely want to go to the room and get refreshed before we head out to dinner. Thx bunches!

A look at the location and the layout.

There's not much happening at the Boardwalk until after 5pm. There are no open kiosks or performers until the dinner hours. It's pretty vacant while people are at the parks. I'd take time for the Boardwalk after dinner. Do DTD during the day, return to ASM to freshen up for dinner, go to dinner, then enjoy the Boardwalk atmosphere. It's really hoppin' as people leave EPCOT after Illuminations.

There's a good chance your room will be ready at 10am. Have fun!

I 2nd that. There is not a lot going on until after 5p and most of it is bars and resturants. There are some live performers, but I would recommend Boardwalk for after dinner.

I would do DTD during the day as there are many more shops and activites there. Then head to Boardwalk. Maybe check out the Bellevue Room for an after dinner drink.

Our arrival day, 9/13 (Saturday)we don't get in till 3:00pm. We have a dinner reseration at 50's Prime Time scheduled. We are planning on seeing Fantasmic at 8:30 and the park will be closed when it's over. If we were up to it, I thought we'd visit the Boardwalk for our first time. Maybe have the Kitchen Sink!!

Since the park will already be closed, what is the best way to plan on getting to All Star Sports from there?

Thanks!

Cara

Two choices:

Bus from closest resort to DTD, transfer at DTD to All Star Sports bus.

Cab from closest resort to All Star Sports.

Robo, I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for your absolutely "Marvelous!" maps and aerial pictures. We've been to Disney so many times over the years, but still don't know exactly where everything is. :-)
With your views of the parks and everything labeled, it sure makes things easier for everyone.
Thanks.

I totally agree with Scaretfire.:thumbsup2 We stay at the BCV and other than walking over to the bakery in the morning we only go over to the boardwalk side after dinner. After dinner get an ice cream or some candy for your room at seashore sweets and then take some yummy bakery back as well at the Boardwalk bakery. We also enjoy the entertainment. It seems like it is always changing and DD loved the magician the last time.:)

Thanks everyone for your information and for the super-duper maps. One last question - if we drive from ASM to the boardwalk for dinner at Flying Fish, where is the best place to park to be near the restaurant?

You can only get the Kitchen Sink at Beaches 'n' Cream, which is located at the Beach Club Resort, not the Boardwalk. The Yacht & Beach Club resort complex is on the opposite side of the lake from the Boardwalk. it's a pleasant 10-minute walk or so using the path around the lake, or you can catch a boat at the Boardwalk that'll take you over.

Park at the Boardwalk Inn. Enter through the front entrance and walk through the lobby, down the stairs, and out the door to the Boardwalk. Flying Fish is on your right. I've never eaten there but I hear it's fabulous.
