How much time to allow for meeting princesses?

I asked this question (or very similar one) on the attractions board and never got a response, so I will try here!
This will be our first trip using FP, so I want to make sure I understand it correctly and I'm timing things well.
We have a FP to see Cinderella and Rapunzel from 11:10-12:10; then, we have FP to see Anna and Elsa from 12:30-1:30 (actually, DS and I have that time, DH has 12:40-1:40, only way to get all three of us at an early time!). So, since these attractions are in the same area, would it make the most sense to get there at the end of our time for C&R, like at 12:05, Meet them, and then hang out and wait for 12:40 to see A&E? That is how FP works, correct - we can go any time WITHIN that window? Anyone know approx how long it takes to meet the princesses......trying to figure out how much time we would have to kill after seeing C&R before we can see A&E. If it seems like TOO much time (like, getting through the FP line and then meeting them will only take a couple minutes), I may do them earlier and then squeeze something else in between so DS doesn't get too fidgety and anxious.....I'm just rotten with timing things, I'm always 10 minutes early for everything and then DS gets into things while trying to keep him occupied during the wait!

You go any time during your FP hour. It's roughly 15 min in the FP line and then maybe another 16 min in the character room.

I have been told you can use your fast pass a few minutes early or latter ( but I would not count on it I think going towards the end of you time for the first one I think you can be in and out with in 30 minutes so maybe go at 12 and then look around the area that you are in and walk slowly to AE fast pass

The good thing with those 2 FP is that the carousel is right there in that area. It is pretty high capacity, so usually not much of a wait. So if you need time to kill, that is a simple solution. Also, if you are interested in the SOTMK game, there are several portals in the area that could be played while you wait.

Thanks everyone for the advice and tips! The carousel is a great suggestion too.....he has recently started being ok with riding on those again, after several years of avoiding them :)
