So we are rope drop people (we don't have to be the first people in line...we aren't going to run, but we like to be there at park opening and we especially like the MK welcome show). I know security has increased since our last visit, and last time magic bands were in testing so people that had them were slowing up the lines with lots of confusion- maybe this has improved? We will have 2 strollers and a couple bags in our group.

So when should we be at our hotel shuttle stop to make it to 9am openings? I usually would have been down there 8:10 or 8:15, does that still sound good?

We were at the bus stop everyday between 8 am to 8:15 am last week. Buses were waiting when we got there. We were staying at Pop. We got to the park by 8:30 am most of the morning and there were only 3-4 people waiting per security. Security were thorough but it didn't take more than couple of minutes on weekdays. On Saturday, we arrived around 11 am and there were alot of people at the security lines but security weren't as thorough as they were when we were there at 8:30 am. It took at the most 5 to 7 minutes to get through.

Thanks guys, sounds like on the first few days I should do 8 am just to make sure. Our extended family has a hard time getting up so they might get left behind ;)

since they have opened more bag check lines at lest for the MK it goes by much quicker ( I once had to wait 45 minutes to get to where bag check was then another 20 minutes for bag check ) it was crazy but now up where the busses are where the guard would tell you you must go down the hill for BG there are now a few BG up there so that helps a lot I would give your self about 10 minutes now.

Keep in mind that if you want to see the Welcome Show, it happens 20 minutes before park opening (if there's morning EMH that day, it's 20 min before the EMH opening and not the full opening), so if you want to see that, definitely leave by 8.

And, while there is not a "show" at the other three parks, they open the gates to guests 10-20 minutes before 9AM and re-stage guests at an internal holding area before releasing them to the attractions.

Arrive early.

Last summer I set a bus stop time of 7:45 for a 9am opening. We were usually within 5 minutes of that time (11 people) and on a bus in 15 minutes or so. We were close to the front of the line for opening and right up front for the MK opening show.
