I cant see us doing a whole day just for HP. we might do a couple other rides in universal but we thought about going in at noon and spending the day there. Anyone else who has done Wizarding World shed some light?

Generally, the crowd starts getting pretty large shortly before noon and that can affect wait times for the rides and attractions. It's been our experience that if you get there early you'll see and do a lot more and be much more unfettered by the height of daily attendance numbers.

Certainly if you want to get the whole Harry Potter experience you'll need to have park-to-park tickets and that will allow you to take in both Universal and Islands of Adventure (Diagon Alley and the Escape from Gringott ride are in the Universal Studios park while Hogsmeade, Hogwarts and the Forbidden Journey ride are in the Islands of Adventure park with the Hogwarts Express connecting the two areas).

While I agree with you that spending a whole day within the Harry Potter sections of the parks is probably too much time, there are a lot of other rides and attractions at the two parks that you may find interesting.

Thank you, we are getting park to park. what times do the parks usually close? The only other rides we would be doing is probably MIB, Simpsons (maybe) and revenge of the mummy. Probably spiderman too.

Park times tend to be seasonal and can vary from day-to-day as well as being different between the two parks for any given week. Generally, Islands of Adventure will stay open later than Universal Studios. During the Summer or at Christmas time a 10 o'clock park closing isn't unusual, in other, less busy times of the year a park may close between 5 (usually Universal) and 8 or 9 (Islands) so there's no blanket answer that will work. Same thing may be true of park openings. A lot of days Universal will open at 8 and Islands at 9. Take a look at the Theme Park Hours page at the Universal website. I think that the calendar tool for each of the parks will go ahead a couple of months and will also look backwards by month. Past hours may not predict hours for the same months next year but should be directionally informative.

we will be going feb 9 - 12, week be for presidents week. Will the crowds be lite?

I'd think that the crowds would be light to moderate during that time. Both parks should be open 9am to 6 pm or 7pm. Islands of Adventure hours usually extend to 8 pm during Presidents' Week to accommodate the larger crowd size.

Well, it depends on how into Harry Potter you are. I'm a big fan and I could spend an entire day in just the HP areas of the parks (and have done so in the past). There's so much to see and do besides the rides.

First you have all the stores in both sections, which are worth going into even if you don't want to buy anything. It took about an hour for my friends and I just to visit all the stores in Diagon Alley, and we didn't even buy anything.

You should definitely eat at both Leaky Cauldron in Diagon Alley and the Three Broomsticks in Hogsmeade. If you don't want a full meal at both, at least get a snack. The atmosphere is great. You can also get ice cream at Florean Fortesque's in Diagon Alley and some neat beverages at the Hopping Pot (which is right next to the Diagon Alley stage area).

There are two performances in Hogsmeade, the Frog Choir and the Triwizard Champions. The Diagon Alley performances are The Tale of the Three Brothers (a dramatized puppet show) and Celestina Warbeck and the Banshees (a jazz style singing group). All four of them are definitely worth a viewing. Performances alternate every half hour and start around 11 or so, I think.

Then of course there are the rides, which could have long waits, and Ollivander's wand shop.

If you want to do other attractions as well, I'd want to spend the entire day there. However, if you're not a huge HP fan and just want to walk through the area and do the rides, you could probably see it in less time.
