How much time saved doing breakfast at Garden Grill for Soarin'

I am debating whether to do an extra magic hour at Epcot, rope dropping and going straight to Soarin', or going on a less busy day, during regular hours, and having breakfast at Garden Grill and then going to Soarin. How much time is saved by breakfast at GG? What is procedure to get to Soarin'? Will we be in first in line?

We ate breakfast there while Soaring was still closed. Two of us left to go do Test Track and were part of the first group to design our cars. Two others went to Living with the Land and were on the ride at 8:45. At the very least you will be allowed to go downstairs and be in line. You may not get to ride until the rope drop crowd arrives, but would definitely be among the first to get on if you are coming from Garden Grill. You get a great character experience meal (although expensive) and will be on the first Soarin' ride of the day without using a fastpass. You could accomplish the same by doing rope drop, but would require a lot more time waiting around and fighting crowds. Spending that time eating and taking pictures with Chip and Dale is more enjoyable.

yes, having breakfast with characters in a more relaxed way, than fighting the crowds, does seem more enjoyable. Plus, by interacting with Mickey, Pluto and Chip and Dale, we can also knock out the character meet long line.

I've been given the advice to ask for the check right when you sit down. That way you are settled up and free to leave when you want to get in line.

I have been given the same advice and to also be at the gate at 7:30 and try to be the first in line at the restaurant.

What time was your ADR? We have an 8:05 on June 10th and are hoping to ride Soarin' right after. Do they serve you quick enough to eat and get out before 9:00?

If your goal is the ride and not the food, then be prepared to get in and out as quickly as possible. Ask for the check as soon as you get seated. This is because they can let people in the park early. It's not uncommon for a park to be scheduled to open at 9, but they let people in at 8:30-8:45. It happens pretty frequently at all the parks. So just know that's a possibility if you're still in the middle of your food and you see the masses of people coming in.

We have an 8:05 to and was told to try to get there early to be in the front of the line at the restaurant and they let you right in. Most said they were out by 8:45 that did this and also seen all the characters more then once.

So we just did this today. Had an 8:05 reservation. Got to the main gates around 7:35. They let us in around 7:45. We were one of the first groups at Garden Grill. We got a group picture. I requested my check when I ordered. We had eaten and seen all characters around 8:35. Went down and they let us on Soarin about 8:50 before they let anyone else in. When we got off it was a 70 minute wait.

After you left Soarin', any idea what the wait time was for TT?

Sorry! I didn't pay attention. We had a FP for it at 9:30. When we got over there it was an hour. We walked off Soarin about 9:05. Our theater was only half full. It was people from breakfast and some cast members from other attractions riding.

I would imagine that once the Frozen ride opens, and the new Soarin stars, TT should ease up a bit as most will race to do those first thing. (I'm hoping :) )

Yes, that is what we are hoping for. But now that Soarin' has three theaters, and with FEA being a big attraction, maybe TT is best to hit first, then Soarin'?

I think Soarin will be a really long wait right after rope drop. If your close to the first ones in line that would work. I think everyone will go straight to Soarin and Frozen.

Today they only had 2 of the 3 theaters going but at 9:06 the wait at Soarin was 70 minutes.
