How much time is sufficient?

We will be taking our road trip out to Cal. next year. We are doing a "taste of the west" as well. I am just trying to figure out how many days at DL would be enough. I would LOVE to stay 5 days, but that isn't reasonable. Just want to make the most of our trip. Kids will be 10 and 6 at that time.

Is 2 days at DL and 1 day at DCA enough? Hoping to drive into DL area early enough the day before so we can do downtown Disney the evening before we go to the parks.

2 @ DL and 1 @ DCA is probably enough to see everything.

yes, 2 @ DL and 1 @ DCA should be sufficient, especially if you will be here when the hours are extended (i.e. you have 12-16 hours a day in DL available to you versus 8-10 hours). And if you do DCA "commando style" you could potentially get yourself a few more hours in DL.

I really think it depends on your definition of "do"and the priorites for your family. We read all the posts and were worried about our schedule as everyone seemed to insist on 2 days minimum at DL. We found we saw everything we wanted in one day and spent one day at DCA. My DS's (16,13,10) actually preferred DCA. DL was SO crowded and they aren't much for shows. Working the fastpass system using the nonlinked rides we were holding fastpasses for 3 rides at a time and able to go from one thing to another pretty quickly. The line for matterhorn got us and we waited until late in the day to ride it (still had a wait). If you want to see every store, every show, then you need two days. We were happy with one each. Then again we tend to commando hit the parks as you'll see from our signature list below...

I'd go with 2-3 days total to do both parks. If you are getting park-hoppers, you can visit both parks in one day. Then you can hop over if you get bored with one of the parks for the time being.
