How much time for these parks?

We will be doing a Universal/Disney vacation this year. First time to Universal and we are trying to decide how much time is needed to tour both parks. We have 3 children (8,5,4). We will be arriving Friday Sept, 26 and heading to Disney either the 28th or 29th. Would two half days and one whole day be enough? Should we allow for two full days and 2 halfs? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

At a minimum I would allow one whole day for each park and one day to go back and do your favorites again, or do the things you missed first time around.

We have been there for one day, two days, three days, four days, and just came back from SEVEN DAYS. I agree with the previous poster. One day for each park and then one day for favourites. If you stay on site it is way easier to do the park in less time. Front of the line access saves so much time. It is also very nice to walk back to the hotel in the middle of the afternoon for a pool break.

I'm still not sure how to plan!! Do you think its possible to do the parks in two 1/2 days and one full day? I'm thinking about leaving Universal one day early to take advantage of the FTP offered by Disney. There are 5 of us (2A 3C ages 4,5,8). Thanks again.

Yes you can do the parks in 2 half days (devoted to one park) and one whole day devoted to the other park. But I strongly agree with the other respondents that you should use 3 full days. When we were there in Nov. the lines were short and one full day for each park got us on to the rides and shows we wanted and allowed time to repeat the favourites. Problem is, the best of both parks is addictive and you will want to repeat your favourites over and over again. That is where we made the mistake on only budgeting 2 days although we had a 3 day pass. Oh well, Spidey, MIB, Terminator, Twister, DD, Hulk will just have to wait until our next trip.

We usually allow one day for each park and then one day to some some things again in both parks.
