In December, we are planning on hitting Knott's before going to DLR for 4 days. We are looking to go to Knott's on a Sunday (the 15th) when it opens, then when we are done go and check into our hotel for DLR. I was wondering about doing Goofy's that night or something more mellow, but then realized I really have no idea how long Knott's will take us. It will be the first theme park the kids have visited -- EVER! Kids will be 6 and 4. No jet lag as we will fly in on Friday and they will have Saturday to acclimate. I don't think we will be on a commando mission at Knott's but the kids will likely want to ride a lot of rides and we'll eat at the restaurant there. Do you think being done by 3 or 4 pm is banking on being done too early? TIA!

Knott's always opens at 10 AM. You will need to spend more than six hours to see "it all", especially because you are going on a Sunday and it will very likely be a "Toys for Tots" day. You "can't" miss the ice show, and the parade, although nothing like a Disney one, is fun. The three new family-friendly rides will have opened in Summer.

Dont miss the chicken dinner at Mrs Knotts. Its located just outside the main gate. Superb!!!!!

How much time would I need if I'm taking 2 roller-coaster-loving kids?

For kids ages 4-6 its possible to be done by late afternoon. Depends on how much you want to do and see. Having lunch at the Knotts diner is a great idea but will take time as well. Sometimes we go to the Knotts take out for bucket of chicken, rolls, pie and drinks and then eat at the picnic tables that are just outside the side entrance gate to Knotts.

Kids 4-6 aren't going to go on an of the thrill rides. Mostly the rides at camp snoopy. Theres also the ice show which is very fun. Theres also gunfight shows, western comedy stunt show and other entertainment. Take a look at the attractions list on Knotts webpage and see what all you and your family will be interested in.

For those that love thrill rides Knotts is an all day park. Theres 6 good thrill type coasters and a few smaller fun coasters. Theres also 3 water rides that are all fun along with smaller rides and shows.

Thanks, that's what I thought. Since we were going in the summer, we were thinking of getting the 'express pass' (or whatever they call it at Knott's) so we could go on the coasters multiple times.

We have AP and just went to KBF (I and then Soak City) on Thursday.

What we do to get our chicken fix is get our chicken from the To-Go location next to Mrs. Knott's. A tip from an employee years back was to ask for the chicken hot from the kitchen-which I always do. We took our chicken and mashed potatoes across the street to the tables located nearby SC. We have also eaten our chicken in the car or on the grass located in the parking lot, right under Ghost Rider.

They have a pretty good deal on refillable cups and they now serve Coke. Your refills are free the day you buy the cup.

It will be more crowded on Sunday than during the week. But if you arrive before opening you can get the main coasters done before most guests arrive.

OP-Camp Snoopy is great for your kid's ages. They'll love it.

Have fun!
