We are flying out of Newark, NJ (Continental) on Oct. 10 at 10:30 am. I was thinking we should get there around 8:30 am. Does this sound like enough time?

I have the same question for MCO. We are leaving on Oct. 21 at 4:30 pm. I have heard horror stories about MCO lately? I was thinking of getting there about 2 hours before. Does this sound ok? What has it been like flying out of MCO lately?

Thanks for all replies.

Oh yea, one more thing. We will be travelling with an 11 month old. Not sure if this adds to the airport time or not.

I've only been to Newark airport a few times, but I've always found it something of a mess. It's an older airport with lots of crowds. So I would give yourself two hours just to be safe. Remember, a lot of parking at Newark is a little remote and it could take some time to take a shuttle bus or tram to the correct terminal. Leave extra time for that.

As for MCO, I've found it can be a little unpredictable with regard to crowds. I can never tell when security lines will back up, etc. So I leave myself about two hours as well. But, if you're renting a car at an on site agency the drop off usually is very quick and you're already at the terminal.

I think you'll be fine if you plan on walking in the terminal door about two hour before your flight.

Have fun.

thanks for the response.

We're taking a limo to Newark so parking isn't a problem. I guess I'll just be at both airports 2 hours before and hopefully all will be ok.

I was just wondering about this myself.

We are going to use Happy Limo to transport us to and from the Poly from MCO. We don't fly very often (last time was '93!) so we are unfamiliar with procedures and timing.

1) If my flight lands at MCO at 11:08am what time should I request pick-up from Happy Limo? Or, do they determine that themselves based on flight information? I have no idea how long it takes to retrieve luggage.

2) Our flight back home to Indy leaves MCO at 12:33pm (on a Saturday). What time should I request pick-up from the Poly? I was thinking 10:00am or should I make it earlier?

Thanks!!!
Debbie

Actually, in the past year since the new gates at Terminal C opened, Newark has been wonderful! They've gotten the screening process streamlined, and although we do get there two hours early as a general rule, we are also usually left with 1 1/2 hours do wait at the gate.

MCO has been a different story, what a mess! I would allow the full two hours there.

Emy's Mom,
The Limo company will generally moniter the flight and they will be waiting for you upon your arrival at the luggage pick up.
If your flight is at 12:30, a pick up at 10:00 am should be fine, It takes about a 1/2 an hour to get to MCO, maybe a bit more, but not much more
