How much time for a full loop on the monorail?

My son really wants our first ride of the next trip to be a loop around the resort on the monorail, starting and ending at Epcot.

How long is the round trip? I'm guessing the resort loop is a longer one so te express line is the best choice since we don't want to stop anywhere.

Last year we took the Epcot monorail instead of waiting in line for Epcot to open. We were really early. We asked the CM if ok to stay for the full roundtrip. I would say it took 25-30 minutes roundtrip. We hadn't been on it for a long time. It was great, as it goes thru Future World before stopping at the Epcot station. If you want to go on the MK (resort loop)monorail you will need to change monorails at the Transportation Center.

60 to 75 minutes.

0 to 10 minute wait at epcot.
15 minutes to the TTC
5 to 10 minutes at the TTC.
15 minutes on the express loop.
5 to 10 minutes at the TTC.
15 minutes to Epcot.

It sounds like you are thinking that the resort loop and the Epcot loop are the same, but they are two different monorails. The Epcot monorail just goes back and forth between the TTC and Epcot. The Resort rail goes in a loop between TTC-Poly-GF-MK-CR-TTC. The express goes TTC-MK-TTC.

I think that's the order of the loops anyway.

I've actually spent an evening just riding the monorail/ferry/boats (late arrival no park plans) If you're not at opening or closing doing a combination of the express and Epcot line is not a long time, maybe 30-45 minutes or so. I have often bought a treat then ridden the loops just to cool off or rest my feet.

Ok, I've got to modify a couple of numbers because I've timed it many times. The actual moving time from Epcot to the TTC is almost exactly 6 minutes if there is no hold and usually isn't. It can be just a little longer (15-30 seconds) returning to Epcot because of the loop through the park. Other times I'd generally agree with.

It doesn't seem that long, but the actual travel time from TTC to Epcot is 2 minutes longer than Epcot to TTC.:)

Well there's 3 monorails.

Express: TTC to MK, then MK to TTC
Resort: TTC to Polynesian, Grand Floridian, MK, Contemporary, then back to MK
Epcot: TTC to Epcot then back

We just did this. We started at the Contemporary (took the ferry there from the campground).
We took the monorail to TTC then switched to Epcot.
Rode to Epcot then back to TTC.
Then we rode all the way around back to the contemporary.

It was pretty awesome. There was not an express. We stopped at all the resorts (gorgeous tour) but did not get off.
Each stop only takes a minute.

The whole way around is about 20 minutes.

Ride times to and from Epcot are accurate as posted above.

Get out at the contemporary and check out the mary blair mural. Just amazing.

Yes, there is an express Monorail. You just weren't on it (you were, instead, on the resort monorail).
