How much time do you give yourself in the morning?

I liked having a good 45 minutes but I was a Substitute Teacher for 30 some years so if I got called say after school had started I could literally get ready and be there within 15 minutes. Of course I did live just a mile away from the main school I subbed in and never had to wash my hair as I learned to do that the night before. :)

I usually take 45 minutes from alarm to out the door. I like to have a long, hot shower to wake up. I have made it out the door in 15 minutes when I slept through my alarm though. I don’t get online or turn on the tv though as I would lose track of time.

I’ve been getting the kid up an hour earlier than I need to lately so that when STUPID daylight savings time rolls around, it won’t be a struggle to get him up on time. It’s actually nice. We play for that hour and have a leisurely breakfast.

My morning routine is designed to for me to sleep as late possible! I take my shower and wash my hair at night. I get up at 6:50 a.m. and my goal is to be pulling out of the garage at 7:20 a.m. My clothes are already chosen and laid out, my lunch is made and my breakfast containers are clean and ready to go. I get dressed, fix my hair and make-up, make coffee and an easy breakfast to eat in the car. I usually finish my breakfast in the parking lot at my school. I could leave later and still be to work on time, but I can't get a space in the parking lot if I get there much after 7:35. I have to be in the classroom by 7:45, so that gives me 10 minutes to finish breakfast and browse on my phone. I enjoy schedules!

I have about 2 hours but there’s a lot of down time in there. I hate being rushed

Alarm goes off at 5
Out of shower at 5:15 Check email/read news until 5:30
Makeup, hair and getting dressed until 6:30 with some breaks to talk to my husband
Relax from 6:30-7

I lay out my clothes and stuff the night before. I can be ready in 20 minutes and eat my breakfast as I drive.

On weekday mornings I have a specific routine I go through, or else my whole day gets thrown off. Wake up at 5:30, take out dogs and feed them, shower at 5:45, relax with a cup of coffee or tea and watch the news until 6:20, do m hair, make my lunch and coffee to go, get dressed, take dogs out again at 6:55, leave by 7:10. I’m crazy, I know.

If I have to shower, I get up at 6:45 and I have to be out the door by 7:25 but usually don't leave until 7:30. :sad2: :rotfl: If I shower the night before, I get up at 7am. I don't drink coffee and I don't eat breakfast before I leave. I have this thing with 7am ...it just feels too early to get up then.

My husband gets up an hour and a half before he has to leave....he likes to have multiple cups of coffee, read emails, go online, etc. before he starts getting ready.

Up at 2 am. Check my personal e-mail, work e-mail, work SLACK, online version of local paper and Twitter while eating breakfast. 2:30 am brush, floss, shave get dressed. 2:45 amish out the door. 13 mile drive. A few years ago they started doing most freeway construction overnight here in California, so sometimes I face slowdowns, but at work in the 3 am to 3:10 am range. My official start time is 3 am, but my bosses give me some leeway since I have gone through all my work messages before I arrive at work. We have a staff meeting at 3:15 am so I HAVE to be there by then.

My alarm is set an hour before I have to leave, but most of the time, I wake up around 20 minutes before my alarm. I like to relax with a cup of coffee before I really get moving.

We are really lazy in the morning. DH has a set "routine" that includes stretching and such, so it takes him a minimum of 2 hours to get out the door, and that's IF he is focused! There is just no rushing that man! It also depends on the day of the week, as DH goes to the gym on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and I try to get there on M/W/F. Basically, the alarm goes off at 5:40. IF I'm going to the gym I have coffee, get myself together, and try to be there by 6:15. Home by 7:30, shower, dress, out the door by 9. I can set my own work hours so it doesn't really matter when I go in. DH needs to be gone by 9 at the latest, so if he's not going to the gym, he will spend the better part of 3 hours showering, dressing, ironing, stretching, answering email, breakfast, etc. We both work in academia so our time is pretty much our own, as long as we are in to work in time to teach (on the days we are scheduled). As I said, we are really lazy in the morning!

I used to spend more time getting ready and now that I’m married, getting older, don’t have much hair, don’t care as much about how I look, I cut it thin. I value my sleep more. Alarm at 6:45 out the door around 7:00-7:10, shaved/showered night before.

Depends. I need to be out the door by 5:30 AM. If O want to sleep in and just get dressed and go out the door, I can sleep until 5/15.

But I generally like taking my time and not being rushed. So I usually get up between 4 - 4:30.

Up at 5:45
Showered, shaved, teeth brushed, dressed by 6:10
Dogs walked and fed
Lunch made (hopefully the night before)
Coffee made for my wife (I drink the office coffee)
Out the door hopefully by 6:45

I'm thinking about getting up earlier so I can hit the gym in the morning instead of in the evening. But that means I'd want to go to bed earlier. So, trade offs...

If I am eating, 5:30... still out the door by 6:30!

I wake up about 2-3 hours before I have to be anywhere. I hate feeling rushed.

Shouldn’t there be at least two more cats demand feedings in there? Haha.
