I was wondering how much time you give yourself for each park? I just want to be able to see as much as possible and wondered how much time each park takes to view the main attractions?? Is 1 day enough for AK and MGM?? We love the zoo, so AK will be a real treat for us, can it be done in one full day, from open to close??

Our typical vacation is 4-5 days in the parks. Break it down this way...

MK - 2 days
MGM -1 day
Epcot - 1 day
AK - maybe 1 day

I usually plan a full day for each park, but usually we end up hopping around on AK and MGM days. If you are in to animals I would give AK at least a day. I think this trip we are going to try to slow down a little more and enjoy the animals more on our AK day.

MK- 2 days
Epcot- 2 days
MGM- 1 day
AK- 1 day
no park/waterpark- 1 day

We usually stay 7 or 8 days.

We are all over the place .We do EMH then go back to the resort or a Waterpark for the afternoon. Then back to do the parades and firework/fantasmic at night.
WE know things we always do ,our favs, and hit them first, then we try to hit the new stuff ,then either the rest or go back to our favs.

So if I would have to say the Jimmiej Above is what we most likely hit just all jumping around.

One day for each park - may go to another for dinner or parade or fireworks, then last day of trip catch up on what we might have missed at each park, or everyone's favorites!

I park hop a lot, but if you add it all up, it adds up to about:

MK: 3 days
Epcot: 4 days
AK: 2 days
MGM: 1 day

One full day for each park. If I can't fit it all in then that leaves something for the next visit to that park. If I finish early it's time to hit the favorites again or just take it easy smelling the flowers.

MK--open to close

Epcot--open to close

AK--open to close (they close earlier so you can definatley go slow all day and still do everything in one day)

MGM--we don't really care for it much. We're going to MGM at night after AK to go to dinner and watch Fantasmic.

Waterpark--open to close (they also close earlier so easy to do in a day)

We always try to plan on a minimum of...

MK - 1 to 1.5 days
EPCOT - 2 days
DS/MGM - 1 day
DAK - 1 day
Water Park - c. half day
DTD - c. half day

We don't often stay in a single park from open to close, but prefer to hop instead. And we do save at least a half day to go back and hit those 'must see' attractions or shows that we may have missed on the first time around (or want to repeat once more). Our trips are usually for c. 7 to 8 days stay at WDW (plus two days of travel).

If you go on a day that Disney-MGM is open quite late, you can probably do most of the "big things" to do in both parks, especially if you go to AK in the am. But if you want to view all the shows that are available, then you'll want a full day at the studios, because all the timed shows at the studios and at AK are worth it IMO.

Normally we go for a short weekend and choose 1 or 2 parks for the weekend but on a longer trip we generally plan on 1 day at each park although now that we have seen all the shows at MGM a couple of times we can spend just a small part of the day here to do our favorites and the rest of the day relaxing or at another park. We have seasonal passes so we can just hop if one park is too crowded for us.

Alot of the time you spend in each park will depend on the age of your children. We usually allow:

MK - 2 days
Epcot - 2 days (and there are still things there I have NOT seen)
MGM - 1 day
AK - 1/2 day, least favorite park
BB/TL - 1/2 day each park

The best thing to do is evaluate your time at WDW, realize you just can't see everything, and then make a list of those things you absolutely must do! Make certain you do those things first (or make time for them) and then do the other things.

We just take 1 day in each park.

We do the 4 major theme parks and water parks.

We stayed 6 days last trip and are staying 7 this time. We were rained out of BB and never felt the need to go back.

So we have the extra day for a "make-up" day, if we don't need it we will do DTD, or maybe mini golf.

We don't put limits on our time spent in any one particular park.

We jump around and have been known to go to 3 different parks in one day, but we know them pretty much like the back of our hand having been multiple times.

For a first timer, I'd allow extra time to really get the full experience.

MK - one day, possibly two if you have small children

AK - one day (half day for us)

Epcot - two days at least

MGM - one

Do you have kids? Ours were 6 & 9 last year for their first trip to WDW.

WHAT WE DID LAST YEAR:
MK-- 2 days
Epcot-- 1 & 1/2
AK-- 1 day (opening till 2pm)
MGM-- 1 day (open till 7pm)
Typhoon-- open till close
Downtown Disney--- a few hours

WHAT WE WILL DO NEXT YEAR:
MK--- 3 days
EPCOT--- 2 & 1/2 days
AK--- 1 FULL day (open to close)
MGM--- 1 FULL day (open to close)
TYPHOON--- (same) 1 all day
DTD--- at least half a day

We thought that since it was our first time... we missed a few experiences and didn't get to see all the nighttime parades because we were to tired! It will be really nice to take it a bit more slowly and take our time when we go next year. We also will extend our stay from 9 nights to 12 nights, so we can also go to Universal and Sea World.
Have fun planning.... always allow for extra time!! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

When we go to Disney we like to go to all the parks+ the water parks.

2 days at magic kingdom :thumbsup2
1 and a half days at animal kingdom
2 days at MGM
1 and a half days at Epcot
half a day at Blizzard Beach
half a day at typhoon lagoon

Disney rocks! :yay: :bounce:
