hey just wondering how much AVERAGE you spent a day on Food/snacks/beverages. This is my 1st time going there so here is what i calculated. Please note I AM on a budget so i would love to read i've over exaggerated my spendings a day. This is for 2 people (me, gf)

Meal 1 : $16.00
Meal/snack: $6.00
Lunch 2 : $19.00
snack: $8.00
Dinner : 20.00

So a day I would be spending $69.00. times 7 that would be 483...
I do not plan dining in fancy disney restaurants or 5 star ratings. Something simple like burgers and fries and things of that nature will be very ideal.
Are my calcuatiosn somewhat accurate? Pelase let me know.. Thanks!

p.s. we leave in 48 hrs!

I don't know about the way you have it all broken down. For example.... We would never eat 3 meals a day and 2 snacks. If you are going at a hot time, you probably will find yourself skipping a meal some days or at least sharing something because you just won't feel like a heavy meal. I really think that you could do it for that though.

Why don't you take some little donuts and pop-tarts and cereal and cereal bars etc.... and eat breakfast in your room some days. You will want to get an early start anyway so it is a double bonus, time saver and $$$ saver!

Have fun.

Breakfast in room - bring cereal, plastic spoons, bowls from home
From Gift Shop - milk 16 oz container $2.50

do rides - lunch - MK - Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe
1/2 Rotisserie Chicken - with Mashed Potatoes and a seasonal vegetable $7.99
or
Caesar Salad with Chicken $6.99
or
BBQ Pork Sandwich served with potato chips or pasta salad $6.59
Drink average price $2.00
Total average price for 2 adults = $18

do more rides or go to resort and go for a swim
dinner at resort snack bar - not sure where you are staying
I'll use Contemporary Food and Fun Center
Get one fo the following:
Chicken Bacon Melt Sandwich Basket $7.89
Double Bacon Cheeseburger Basket $7.59
Bacon Cheeseburger Basket $6.59
Grilled Chicken Breast Sandwich Basket $6.79
Chicken Strips Sandwich Onion Roll Basket $6.79
Chicken Strips Basket $6.79
Cheeseburger Basket $6.09
Chili Dog with cheese basket $7.24
Hot Dog Basket $5.99
California Club Wrap $6.99
Deli Sub $5.69
Chef Salad $6.59
Chicken Caesar Salad $6.59
Turkey Sandwich $5.89
Veggie Sandwich $5.69
Tuna Sandwich $5.69
DRINKS - $2
Total average = $20

Snacks for day:
Popcorn $4.00 for tub
Mickey Ice Cream $2.50

So bottom line
Breakfast $2.50
Lunch $18.00
Dinner $20.00
Snacks $6.50
TOTAL per day = $45

One week - 7 days = $315 - And you do not have to live on burgers and fries, do some salads, sandwhiches, fruit, less red meat.

I think you are on target and can get away with a great stay at ~$70/day. We always do concierge now, but we budget about $200/day for 5 (2 adults, 3 kids). We typically eat TS meals for dinner and about half CS/half TS for lunch.

We generally plan on $50/person/day for adults and 30/person/day for kids. This gives us a nice sit down meal every day and a couple of counter service meals with snacks. It generally averages out to this for our trips.

Depends on how you eat. The only part that would probably throw a loop in the calculation for me is dinner. I don't think I would want to do burger and fries for dinner for 7 nights straight. My family and I usually like to sit down to a large, nice dinner (including wine and soft drinks.) Because of this I usually budget $60.00/per day, per person. Food is definitely the big ticket item in my budget.

We went in June, and did pretty well on our food budget. It was HOT so we did not eat 3 meals a day really. We did a few TS meals, but mostly counter service adn the food court at AS Mo. We averaged about $100 a day for 2 adults and 2 kids(my kids are 9 and 5). I had budgeted about $150 a day, so some days we had extra money! Extra money left at Disney, what a concept!!! LOL!!!

You might want to think about the dining plan. For $75/day for the two of you, you will get one counter service, 1 table service, and 1 snack per person. This would allow you to pick the most expensive item on the menu and not have to worry about it. It is a few dollars more than your $69/day budget and doesn't cover a third meal, but I have found that you could get by on two meals and a snack with the amount of food you get on the DDP. Check out the the disney dining plan forum for more details.

I agree about the dining plan!! Then you could try a few romantic restaurants and even some character meals. We love the dining plan!

We are just two adults with no kids. So, we don't have to budget for huge amounts. We usually just allow for $50 per person per day. Some days are a little more, but most run less. At the end of the trip, we take the left over cash and buy some special goodie for us. I rely heavily on the menus and posted pricing on the menu section on AllEarsNet.com when figuring our budget. Maggie

For the 2 of us (kid-less), I figure we're good for an average of $150 to $200 per day. But generally speaking, we eat well :)

If you are on a budget and trying to save money on food and drinks, avoid the dining plan. Eating CS meals and occasional meals in your room will add convenience and flexibility to your stay. Eating meals in your room may not be an option if you don't want to visit the grocery, but we really save time in the morning by eating pop tarts, fruit, honey buns, etc. in our room.

During our last visit, I wanted to cancel some reservations for TS meals that I had made several months ahead and to rebook for a different day and/or time because our park visiting plans had changed. My "new" choices were not available at any reasonable times since so many people had reservations.

There are a number of factors which may come up during your visit which can affect your "touring plans"; eating CS meals allows you to eat when you want and in whatever park you happen to be in. The CS menus have a good deal of variety in case you get tired of just burgers and fries.
