How much spending money?

My husband, two kids and I are going as guests of my mom. We have the dining package, and she plans to pay for all our other meals and snacks. She also has spending money set aside for the kids. Would $500 be enough spending money for my husband and me, for extra drinks and snacks, and a couple souvenirs? She doesn't want us to spend anything, but I don't want her buying our OOP drinks and snacks and souvenirs.

It depends on how long you are staying what things you intend to buy (artwork is very expensive) and how often you snack. If its a general 7 day trip I would think it would be enough money if your not planning to go big on souvenirs.

Going cheap a drink and a snack would cost you about $6 - $7 so multiply that by 2 and work out how much you think you might snack. $500 should be more than enough tho
