Hi

we are thinking of going to DLP for 3 days and were wondering how much spending money we would need for that amount of time?

For my last trip I took about £350 for 4 days, that was for 1 adult and a child, My sister paid for her own meals apart from the last day when I paid for her meal at walts.
We ate breakfast at the hotel which was included and it is a buffet so we filled up, and than had a table service meal at about 5.30pm. If we were hungry in the day we would buy some crisps from the train station shop as it is a lot cheaper than the park. We spent about £70 on souvenirs.

For 4 of us we take £100 per day, which includes lunch and ice creams / drinks, souvenirs. Our evening meals we put on a nationwide credit card.
(approx 96 euros per night)

Do you prefer table service to counter service?
What about the amount of shopping you plan on doing?
All of these will have a bearing on how much to budget for :)

We spent about £500 over 5 days for two adults and a child. We snacked for lunch and nearly always had table service at night. This included a number of souveiniers.

we took about £700 for 3nights 4 days for 2 adults 3 kids on the basis that we would have plently and hopefully some leftover(we got a 100 each of my parents the day before!)we would of had about 200 left but my dh discovered that we had that much left on the last day and took th kids off with the fated words..."kids lets blow the budget and hit the shops!" hence we came back with no cash and about 20 pairs of minnie ears for ever friend of my dd`s and we`re still finding disney related items that they decided to buy 6 mths on!!!

We have taken £500 each time we have gone and we spend the lot. Septembers trip we have BB booked fo our 2nd night and all paid for so the rest is for our fooda nd presents for the kids. we are going for 3nights/4days.
Thats 705 euros for just the 2 of us this time but it will be spent on stuff for the kids they have given me a list!!

Hi lorapinky,

I reckon since you said this was a budget trip you'll be wanting to know the bare minimum to take! To cover travel to and from the airport to park, I would set aside £30 or so, dependent on mode of travel. For food for 3 days, I would say around £60 each, and for this you can probably have a nice table service meal one night and basic fare the rest of the time. For souvenirs, drinking, misc., this is pretty subjective but I would probably take about £50 for 3 days if I was on a budget. I went in March with 3 friends for 4 days and we spent around £100-120 each for everything all in, and we did manage to get a couple of nice souvenir-y things too.

It just depends if you reckon you're gonna buy a lot of souvenirs, nice meals and drinks really, this is what adds up :)

Hope this helps.

I've never been sure how much to take. I usually am Scrooge McDuck with myself for the first couple of days then go on a mad splurge on the last day, buying up all the stuff I could have had the first day!

Hi :wave2:

We are taking £700 for a 5 day trip but we are going to Paris for a day too, and also have booked a posh restaurant in Paris for our Wedding Anniversary dinner so we need extra for that.

We are planning on getting snacks and drinks from Auchan at Val D'Europe to keep costs down, but we are planning on eating out in nice restaurants every night so that will be expensive.

Prob won't buy too much merchandise - well - I gonna try not to!! :rotfl:

Last time I went we took about £750 for 2 adults for 5 days. We could have managed on alot less but we fell into the "we've got loads left, let's go spend" trap on the last couple of days. suppose if you've got it you'll spend it.

I took £1200.00 for 6 days last time, that's 2 adults and 2 kids - we had a table service or Character meal every day, although some were prepaid for and I came home with just under £300.00 - we were celebrating 2 birthdays and a wedding aniversary so it was a rather special holiday and I didn't want to be scrimping.
Our previous break (5 days) was done on a smaller budget, with prepurchased meal vouchers and spending money of about £400.00, it wasn't any less magical and if it meant squeezing an extra trip in I'd do a budget one again. :goodvibes

When my sister & I went in july for 4 nights/5 days we ended up spending around £500 between the two of us. This included a lunch and dinner everyday, one in a table service and one in a counter service, masses and masses of purchases (wayyyy too much) and little things like drinks & ice creams & popcorn (love disney popcorn). It also included the cost of two APs (about £150 ish) so without the APs we spent around £350 but we did buy a lot and ate well. I'm trying to do it on a severe budget when I go this weekend, so I'll let you know the grand total!

We are taking 730euros and DD has 60 euros, really hoping this is enough, breakfast is included, so all we need are drinks during the day and lunch for DD, evening meals are table service at rainforest cafe, cafe mickey, and beaver creek and one place to choose.

Taking CC to be on the safe side.

I think its a matter of personal choice how much you take. My husband and I went for 3 nights and took €400 for the two of us. To be honest there werent many souveniors that we wanted to buy and it was pretty much the same from shop to shop.

You don't have to spend a fortune, I personally wouldn't bother with a proper sit down table service meal whilst out there and we normally eat at places like Anettes Dinner and counter service meals, worked well for us.

Main thing is to go and enjoy yourself!!

OMG!!! I thought we could do this really cheaply - having read this post I'm really worried. I thought that once we had paid for accomodation, travel and 3 days entry into the parks it would be easy after that. :confused3

We're b&b at the holiday in - we were going to fill up at breakfast. Bring nibbles in the car from the UK, (drinks, crisps, biccies, fruit ) for lunches and buy a sandwich. Then we were going to pay for dinner in a restaurant.
I was going to let my daughter buy herself some souvenirs as birthday presents (but not too much).

What else do I need money for? I'm not trying to be mean but we're on the bread line here!!!! ;)

I am also quite shocked at the amount people are spending whilst there. We have approx 1100 euros to spend but we have 11 nights at a campsite first before we even get to DLP. Whilst at the campsite we will be self catering so it shouldn't cost us too much but i was hoping 150 euros per day would be adequate for DLp for 2 adults and 2 kids to have a si down meal each evening and buy a few souvenirs

That sounds fine. You don't have to spend lots of money if you don't want to - I certainly don't!!! As I'm not a great foodie, and neither are our two girls yet, we probably only have one "grand" sit down meal during the trip, if that. Otherwise we snack during the day, and then eat at somewhere like Annette's in the evening. I also hardly ever spend anything on souvenirs, just a couple of small things for the children and maybe a new CD. I find our photos to be the best souvenir. :goodvibes

I just got back from a weekend at disney (1/2 sat & sun spent at Disney) and spent a grand total of £60, which included 3 presents. It is possible to not spend a great deal at disney. And I did eat there and have various drinks and snacks.

Whilst I like to have a sit down in the evening we don't do this every evening.
Apart from Annette's the troops favourite is going to Outpost or Fuenta and having a mixture that everyone shares :)
