Emma, you are not an awful Mum, you did the right thing leaving her safe and warm. You need the food in the freezer.

We have had the snow now for about 3 weeks at about 8 inches thick. It is making life quite difficult as we live at a bottom of a hill and the entrance to the estate is on another hill. Sons have job in country pub which is a more hazardous route to travel on.

My sister's baby due next Wednesday so am hoping she can get to the hospital safely. I am trying to keep my road clear also in case she rings up needing my help.

Got stuck at my Mums last night as My Dad and Bro had to abandon there cars.

I decided to walk home from my Mums this morning (It took me just over a hour) without Kyra as I needed to top up the electric key at home otherwise my freezer would of defrosted But i feel like a awful mother for leaving Kyra behind. I hope my Dad or Brother can get her back to me tomorrow.

Hope they manage to bring Kyra home today for you.

We had a bit more overnight and they are forecasting more today & at the weekend....really fed up with it now.

We're on our third snow day now and I keep thinking of all the work sitting on my desk, screaming out for my attention. I just know that by about Wednesday next week the boss will be asking why XYZ is not done and will have totally forgotten that we had 2 weeks Christmas holiday and 3 days snow.

We had a dusting overnight to add to the loads we have. The main roads aren't too bad, just need people to collect cars they have abandoned as they are now causing the problems

Kyra is coming home today, just waiting for my mum to call me as i have to collect her from the top of my road.

Not looking forward to the snow we are forcast for Sunday, I would like DD to go nursery Monday.

No more snow here for us and the kids' schools are open again today (although the girls' school didn't open until 10.30)

I managed to make it into work but it took nearly 2 hours due mainly to the volume of traffic coming through the centre of Bath as nobody dares use the back roads.

I, too, am hoping that we don't get the promised snow on Sunday as I don't think I'm going to be popular if I have to take any more time off due to weather (although I am the only one in our team who is here today )

We've not had any more snow here but it is very cold. The place that recorded the lowest temp last night -22.3 is only about 30 miles away from here. I don't think I will leave the house today

We had a flurry this afternoon it's stopped now.

I'm getting really fed up with it being the main tv news item - we've all got snow, we don't need to be told. Just some emergency or travel info would be enough.

Still, I expect we'll have nothing but flood stories from next week when the snow starts to thaw.

Thanks for the good luck messages for my sister.

We have had more snow and getting in to the estate was very hard for my son, he actually ended up going backwards into the main road. So me, my son and his girlfriend went and cleared all the bank to the main road. We made it safer and also allowed my hubbie to get back home.

It annoys me when neighbours don't smile their thanks or say something when we are out there, or even join in. Though we are doing it for ourselves its nice to feel a bit appreciated when we have done such a big job.

We are supposed to be taking my eldest son back down to Nottingham on Sunday but he may have to go back on the train and just take the minimum back with him. The A1 had a 30 mile an hour speed restriction on it today.

We had a small amount lay overnight to add to what we already have. My friend has had to email a picture of where she lives as she is unable to get to work today, they live in the middle of nowhere & have had 14 inches lay. Her boss didn't believe her as the snow has gone where she lives, some 30+ miles away Its not like my friend is pulling a fast one as she works agency for the school so doesn't get paid if she doesn't turn up so has lost a fair amount of pay last week.
