How much snow have you got?

We have had 12 inches overnight. I did make it to work. The roads were good once I'd got out of our close. I picked up one of our drivers who normally comes to work on a motorbike and we passed four ploughs on the way in. We also saw four cyclists which I think was just crazy!

No more overnight here but what there is has stayed and the roads are still very icy, it's like Christmas day with how quiet it is outside!! Most if not all of the schools are closed and a lot of other workplaces are too. My bf got the train in and said they were running fine and not too busy, buses are all still off.

Just a light covering of snow here :sad2: Still praying for lots more :thumbsup2

It hasn't snowed here since yesterday evening but it is still very thick and it's a nightmare on the roads. I'm in work but I know quite a few places are closed, including all the local schools.

DH has just set off to try and get to work. I have spoken to my boss, who is now in, and she seems OK with the fact that I'm not there. She has just emailed me loads of stuff to do though

It started at 10pm here and I think we have most of the 1 1/2 inch in the first hour. I have a little courtesy car at the moment and I moved it to the top of the drive just in case it got icy and there was only a light dusting on the bare patch where the car originally was.
We have had consistent snow here most of the morning and I'm guessing I'll get a call from DD's school this afternoon to go and get her.

I've heard stories of our local supermarkets being out of milk and bread with no deliveries due, sounds like the panic buyers have been out in force!

We have well over 6 inches here, other areas nearby are saying they have over 10 inches and it is still snowing pretty heavily. For the first time ever the college I teach at has closed, we usually stay open through power cuts, hurricanes etc so I am making the most of my day off! I've just seen on the news that people were stuck in their cars overnight on the motorway by my house and they had to send the army out to rescue them, including a heavily pregnant women who was trapped with her 13 month old baby for 10 hours :scared1:

We had about 2-3 inches at home. DW was hoping her school would be closed but it's open. The primary school closest to us is closed though (Newlands). Side roads are quite bad but all main roads are nice and clear.

I managed to get into work. There hasn't been as much snow in Leicester.

Lovely and sunny here now :)

Just been looking at all the pictures on the news. Looks lovely when freshly fallen but a nightmare when you have to go out in it though. I used to hate driving in snow, no matter how careful you are there is always some nutter not being careful.

i thought I would have a lie in but my boss sent me a text at 6.15 am which woke me up. :headache: She couldn't get through to the local radio to say our school was closed so she wanted me to keep trying. It did mean she had to give me the 'secret code' though (so the radio knows it's a genuine call), which means I can phone in every day this term if I wish :rotfl2: My husband says they may get a bit suspicious after a day or two.

Well it's still snowing here and hasn't stopped since 6.15 last night. The weird thing is it doesn't seem to be getting any deeper.:confused3 Still about a foot.

We had a few cms last night & then a little more during the night. I suppose about an inch by this morning but it has been snowing really thick & heavy here for the past 30 mins with no signs of letting up.

We had a small amount here overnight, probably 1-2 inches. My niece & dog have been playing in the garden this afternoon but have had to be dragged in, its too cold for my old dog:rotfl2:

we have had tons of the stuff, around 14 iches yuk yuk and its soo cold brr

it hasn't stopped snowing all day, although mostly really light but the last 10 min or so its become Heavy - the school that I work at hasn't closed but my boys school shut at 12.15 and told them they would be shut tomorrow as well. Our Head was out in the snow at lunchtime enjoying herself - so knowing my luck will be expected to come in tomorrow as well!!! Its cold and depressing

just heard on the news that the big freeze is due to continue for a few weeks :scared1:
