Our family trip in June is just around the corner and I want to make sure I budget enough money to take with us. We are going with my parents and my sister and her family. We have already paid for the house and our tickets. So money that we will need is for gas(driving from VA), groceries(which will be split up between 3 families), one sit down lunch(Crystal Palace), 2 counter service(my family consist of me,dh,3kids), and one restaurant dinner one evening, souvenirs. What would you say all that would be? All the other meals we plan on fixing and eating at the house during rest time and such. Thanks in advance for all your help!

Don't know if this will help, but I budget $1000 for eight days for food. We are staying at POR so we won't be cooking any meals. I will bring some light breakfast foods so we won't be buying breakfast on some mornings. As for souvies, my kids are each getting $10 a day (so $80 total) to spend. Most of that they have saved themselves and they have Disney Dollars. My dh and I usually don't buy souvies for ourselves, but I will stash an extra $100 for incidentals ;) I have already purchased film, snacks, ponchos, glow sticks, etc. at home, and those things aren't figured into my budget. We are flying and taking Tiffany Town Car, so gas isn't figured into the budget. Tiffany is, though.

Oh, and we are a family of 4....me, dh and 2 ds's 4 & 8.

Have a great trip!

We budget around $100 a day for food and incidentals. That includes parking $7 or $8? a day at the parks, ice cream, souvenirs, last minute things we forgot, etc.. Sometimes we spend it all, but most days we don't.

The character lunch at Crystal Palace is around $18 or $19 per adult and something like $10 or $11 for kids not including tip. So that alone is almost $100 for 4 people. But other days you may not spend much at all.

Plus, luckily Disney allows you to bring in drinks and snacks which not only saves money, but time that you don't have to wait in line.

We are a family of 5....me,dh,dd 8, ds 5, dd 3.

Maybe this will give you a better idea for your own budget.
