how much $ should plan on spending

We are taking our first trip to disney July 6, staying at the All-Star Movies for 7 nights. I've read all about the budget saving tips and know how to save the money. My question is, with a family of four, 2 adults, 14 year old, and toddler, how much should I expect to spend on food and extra's. We plan bring $2500.00 for food, souviniers, and extras for 8 days, with park admission paid for. Will this be enough?

If your hotel and park admission isn't in that amount, you'll have more than enough. Enjoy!

I'd suggest giving the teen a daily budget for souvies and snacks.

We are a family of four but our kids are 5 and 5mos and we usually budget $100 per day for food, souvenirs and extras and usually have plenty. Of course this depends on how many souvenirs you plan to buy and their price range.

i would make a simple spreadsheet listing the 8 days across the top and then list Breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks along the side. Go to http://www.wdwig.com/menu/menus.htm and read up on the menus for different restaurants in the world. No one here know how your family eats and what you are planning on doing. Do you plan on mostly counter service, how many character breakfasts, dinner shows, will you have a car to eat off site any? You don't have to be exact but sometime when we just come up with a lump sum it is hard to budget. Making a spreadsheet will also help you see when and where you need to make priority seating arrangements.

I would separate souvenir money from food money. Each person should have their own souvie money to spend as they see fit. Give the 14 yr old $X dollars for the trip and tell him that is all the money he will get anything else he would like will come from his allowance.
