How much pregnancy weight did you gain?

I gained 25 the first time (she was 7.5 lbs) and 23 the second (funny because she was the bigger baby at 8 lb 2 oz!) Also have to mention I'm still 5 lbs away from my pp weight and have been for ages. People weren't kidding when they said its hard to get that last bit off.

I ate just a little more than I normally do. And usually those extra calories were from desserts. :) I really feel like you don't need to eat much more because your digestion slows and seems to suck out every last bit of nutrients.

I gained 27 pounds with DD. She weighted 8lb 4 oz.
I seemed to gain it all during the last 6-8 weeks. I gained 9 pounds in 2 weeks! For me the baby weight came off quickly. DD was about a third of the weight and I had a ton of "water weight". I swear I sweated about 2 pounds during the first few nights postpartum.

I gained almost 40 with DD. still haven't lost it all but am trying! :thumbsup2

my sister gained 100 with her first. She was young and thought that she would lose all the weight when she had the baby  imagine her surprise when she didn't. she did eventually lose it all, to then gain almost that much again 3 years later with her next one. sigh. :rotfl:

I gained 22 pounds when I was pregnant. My mother told me to enjoy being pregnant, but not to OVER indulge. She gained 52 pounds when she was pregnant with my older brother because she OVER indulged!

I gained 22 lbs. I had a healthy pregnancy and a healthy baby. You aren't really eating for two so don't fall for that.

I gained 7 pounds with my son. I was 161 when I found out I was pregnant and 168 the day I delivered. Unfortunately I was considered overweight to begin with so my body just took from that!! I weighed 151 after delivery.

1st pregnancy-18 lbs and back to normal weight when I left the hospital 1 week later.
2nd pregnancy-30 lbs but most of it was fluid. I was back in all of my clothes 10 days after giving birth.

This sounds horrifying when I say it, but I gained 78 pounds!!:scared1:
I started out at 117 and gave birth at 195. My daughter was 9' 14 oz and was 23" long. It was like holding a 3 month old.

I was also very, very sick the whole pregnancy and the only time I felt better was when I was eating. My stomach had to be full at all times or I was totally nauseous and dizzy. I am also hyperglycemic, so I had to have food in me at all times or my blood sugar would drop. My daughter sucked all the life out of me! Main reason why I only have one child.

I managed to lose 60 pounds within the first 3 months and by month 7 I was back to my prepregnancy weight.

I weighed around 104 with my first and gained 46#. :scared1: I ate everything healthy and avoided all junk and processed foods. I ate regular meals and a couple of snacks each day. Took me several months to get back to my regular weight despite nursing.

With my second, I again weighed 104 and only gained 23#. I was sick throughout most of my pregnancy, but I gorged myself on chocolate/peanut butter sundaes and was not very careful about my diet. I basically ate whatever I wanted whenever I wanted. I walked out of the hospital in my "regular" pre-pregnancy clothes.

Wonder what that says about the healthy eating vs cruddy diet? :lmao:

I did awful and also had a bunch of complications with water retention and blood pressure....but in total I gained 80 lbs

24lbs and about 22lbs. I was in pre-pregnancy clothes with in a week.

You really don't need to gain any above the amount needed for the baby, placenta and extra fluids. I agree with the PP who said you don't need to eat for 2.

32 pounds....i think most of it was water weight as I was swollen like a puffer fish and lost it pretty quickly afterwards. Not to say, I looked anything like I did prepregnancy even after losing it though :(

I was told by the nurse during my first visit that normal weight gain is between 25 & 30lbs. I gained 20. I started out at 107lbs but I consistently gained throughout the pregnancy. I ate what I wanted, when I wanted, but I also exercised (stationary bike & eliptical) 2-3 times a week and did yoga. You only need to eat an extra 300 calories a day when you're pregnant.

I remember the nurse asking me what I ate for breakfast everyday. I asked her if she really wanted to know. I ate a Hardee's bacon biscuit and drank a sweet tea every morning. lol

First pregnancy, I ate like a madwoman and gained 54#. Lost all of that, plus some, then gained 23# with my second, and 28# with my third (he was almost 10 lbs and boy did I feel it!). Luckily I have never had a problem taking it off after giving birth.

FWIW I'm 5'6"
1st baby started out around 128 ----gained almost 60 pounds, but I had preeclampsyia at the end and gained like 20 pounds in one week (all water)

I got down to about 130 and got pregnant with #2.... only gained about 38 pounds....

Got down to about 123 pounds and pregnant with #3 gained about 50 pounds

I currently weigh between 117-119 # ...I'm a runner and a gym rat...I work out every single day and watch my carbs...

20 lbs with my second child. The first I can't remember. My third I gained 15 lbs.

With my last I had gestational diabetes and really had to watch what I ate to stay off of insulin. I lost 5 lbs the first week I altered my diet. I did not gain another pound from 28 weeks on. I ate well but a very healthy controlled diabetic diet.

I should go back on it so I can lose all the weight I gained in the past 9 months.

I had two children.

I was 151 when I started with my first and got to 168 or so was I think my highest weight.. I was almost to 170 but never saw that number. So about 17 lbs or so.

I was 145 when I started with my second, and got to about 160 if that. I was around 14-15 lbs total with my second.

HOWEVER, in between there I lost a lot of weight due to morning sickness.

For example, I started at 151, got down to almost 140, before gaining back to 168. With my second I started at 145 and was down to 135 before going up to 160. If I hadn't been so sick the first half of pregnancy, I'm sure I would have gained more.

The good news was that with the first, it only took me 6 weeks to lose the weight. With my second, I came home from the hospital at 147 (2 lbs more than when I got pregnant - but my DD was 10 lbs), and within a week I was down to less than what I was when I got pregnant.

4 years later I weight between 135-140.

Started at 155 I gained 19 lbs...Doctor put poor maternal weight gain on my chart my first couple of visits but I couldnt keep anything down. I threw up throughout my whole pregnancy! and my Daughter came out 7 lbs 10 oz and 21 inches long
