How much planning do you do?

I know which park we are going to and then....

Well since the start of the DDP I do have to make the ADRS for character dining and plan which park accordingly, this is enough planning to do the highlights without overscheduling our young family, I'm sure as they get older and less nap needy, that will change.

We use a program called Ridemax to plan our days in the parks. We rarely wait for more than ten minutes to ride anything. With 6 people in our family now it could be complete chaos trying to decide what to do next, and why waste precious Disney time standing there trying to figure out where to go next? Since we have a plan going in we always have time to take extra rides on our favorites.

In our house it's always an exciting day when we're 180 days out so we can make our ADR's and when we get the park schedules. I agree with PP's--the planning and anticipation is definitely half the fun. Our kids are already super excited about what we're going to ride first.

I know what parks we are going to, what rides are must do's for us and I'm going to make ADRs but that's as far as I go.

i plan out which park or parks per day and the hours.. and then our adrs. along with the fireworks times and parades. we dont plan any attractions.

How much planning? We're taking our first WDW trip when DD turns five and I'm starting my early planning now...

She was 1 a couple weeks ago.
