Just wondering how much out of pocket money do you usually bring with you to
Disney World. We're on the dining plan, but trying to figure out how much xtra $$ to bring:)

When DH and I go we usually want $20-30 cash per day. Just incase of "small" items. We also use cash for tips at meals.
All other stuff goes on the room.

We're going to the on the QSDP this time around and we've budgeted about $150-250 a day per person for drinks (August is super hot) and any souveniers we may see that we like (we're shopaholics!!). Of course that full amount won't be spent everyday, but just so we maintain some sort of limit.

This is such a hard area for others to give you advice...everyone is so different. Here's an idea:

We use our credit card daily and don't typically carry cash. So for our first trip I calculated approximate amount of our table service meals (buffets are easy), added in the tips needed for mousekeeping and bell hop CMs. Then I added some extra for the incidentals at the airport.

We are also on the DDP and will be there for 9 nights. I will get a Disney GC for $300 and use that exclusively for tips the entire trip. I usually have anywhere between $50 & $70 left over at the end that I seem to be able to spend at WoD! :thumbsup2

Actual cash, well not too much because I'll use my debit or credit card for just about everything, but I do always have $30 in ones at the beginning of our trip for tips (bell hops, sky caps, etc.) Maybe $200 in actual cash just to carry through our trip.

We are also there for 9 nights-that's a very good idea about the Disney GC, thanks for sharing!! And good thinking about getting at least $30 in singles for all the small tips, I didn't even think of that:thumbsup2

I only bring $100-200 cash for drinks, cabs, tips and little stuff. We charge to KTTW card all our souies ans meals etc.

I prefer to pay everything in cash/GC. I tend to spend about $100 a day for my son and I....we're on the dining plan, so the money i spend normally goes towards tips, souveniers, extra drinks, etc. That might seem like too much for my DS11 and I, but we're big spenders on vacay, what can I say. haha. :lmao:

Thank you for this as I was wondering this my self I have a GC so far for 200 dollars and about 150 in change we are saving so this helps me figure how much more to put in! I am going alone with my son around the same time as you and he is 11! Thanks!!!!!

Cash in hand -25 dollars per person per day. For just whatever... snacks, gifts, toys, etc...

Anything else - goes on the debit card.

Wow what a coincidence! :goodvibes Where you staying? We're doing a split stay between POR & POP. Cant wait!

My DS11 & I usually have way more than enough cash. We always have some leftover too. Last trip was for 10 days and I brought $1300 and I had about $300-$400 leftover i think. If i didnt buy that many souveniers, then im sure i would be fine with only $500! Lol. ....Out of that $1300 thou, $150-$200 belonged to my son (he got $ from family) so he was able to buy whatever he wanted. So that helped.

Just the other day my son said I shouldnt bring as much cash as i usually do. Ya ok! Does he not know me? Lol. Honeslty even if you budgeted for $75 per day for the both of you that would be plenty too! Like i said, i dont normally say "no" to him or myself while on vacay. Im a complete disney nut and shopaholic. Lol!

3 weeks is gonna be a busy time for Dis-ers (apparently).
Usually I bring $100 a day if we're not on the DP, and $30 if we're on the plan.
This year we're on the Table Service plan and DD6 has been earning her allowance in Disney Dollars, so she'll have her own $100 dollars to spend on what ever she wants, and I'll probably bring $500 for souvenirs and incidentals.
I tend to pack lots of snacks, and order Costco water, so I really only need money for anything I want. I'm not much of a shopper, and just like Muppet and Haunted Mansion stuff.

I bring no more than $100-$150 for small expenses, including snacks at any carts that can't take Disney gift cards or my KTTW card. Beyond that I pay with gift cards I've bought in the months leading up to the trip, or charge back to the room so it goes on my CC for rewards points. I always have cash left over at the end.

we do the dxddp--so we have a lot of gratuity. we buy a couple shirts, a few random items, basin products, drinks and stuff from mickey's pantry.

i put aside 1200 for a 7-10 day trip, and about 600-800 for a 4-6 day trip.

i take $50 in cash for bellhop, mousekeeping, bus driver tips.

i call once in a while to the front desk to check what i've put on my kttw card. after a couple of those famous slushies... you tend to lose track

Thanks for all the info and suggestions! Looks like I'll play it safe with having around $30 per person per day:thumbsup2

We are taking $1,000. We are on the dining plan and that is how much we have taken in the past and always come back with plenty extra. :)

We are big souvenir people. We tend to spend $1500 a week on souvenirs, misc. etc. We go on the food plan, so those costs are already covered.

I agree! There seems to be a lot of us going that week!

This is our first trip and I've wondered about how much cash to take also. I think we will just carry maybe $50 in cash per day and put everything else on our KTTW.
