Just curious if anyone has any idea how much (% wise) of the resort is still available?

My contract says that we're half a percent of unit # 1. There are 50 units, so if we were the last folks to be in unit # 1, that would be 2%. Our contract was done up on the opening day though -- before the big weekend push. Anyone out there in unit # 2? Oh -- and they might not assign them sequentially -- so there is a good chance that the whole logic is flawed!

lol your logic sounds awesome to me!! I have a feeling that it may not be that small a number though. Do they assign units based on the number of points you purchase, or just by rote? Hmmm.
Congratulations on your new home!!!!:goodvibes

Not sure how it works... my contract dated March 25 put us as Unit 13b with Dec UY - so it may be more sporadic, or if it is sequential than its further along than Quilter007 suggests.

9B here..interesting. Anyone know how these are assigned?

The Orange County California website isn't as informative as the Orange County Florida website, so it's hard to tell what units are where, or how many units have been declared. But, fwiw, in Florida, a unit may consist of 1 or more rooms. At SSR for example, a unit was usually 1 GV, or 2 to 4 2br's. At BLT, a unit so far is usually 1 GV, or 1 to 2 2br's.

Also, UY would have a bearing on what unit is assigned.

btw: my docs dated March 25 have me in unit 1, and I have a June UY.

We purchased in January and are part of 3A with a Aug UY.

We are in unit one, too (June UY). We signed the papers Mar 8th. I was surprised they were still on unit 1.... ;)

:idea:Well being related to your use year makes a lot of sense!! We talked to our guide who told us not to worry. We are meeting with him on the 18th while we are in WDW as we are strongly considering an add on at GCV.
Thanks DVC John!!

Bumping,
I'm curious to see how fast VGC will sell out. With 50 villas being the smallest DVC option, I would think it will be sold out by this time next year. Maybe sooner?

The economy may be putting a damper on things; I'm assuming that the new incentives are the direct effect of sales slowing a bit.

However, we just re-contracted under the new incentives, and our guide warned us that it may be as much as 2 weeks before we get our paperwork (we are new members), due to the volume of contracts, so maybe the new incentives are working quite well! :wizard:

Wow, that's great news for disney in this economy!!

Funny - it wasn't that long ago that there were people saying that because of how few GCV units there are, the West Coast DVC buyers would grab up all the points, and sales would never even open to DVC members in general much less the public. That turned out to be not so correct, didn't it?
