How much money?

If you are looking to save money this is what I did last year. We went late July and the local Disney Store was having awesome sales. I bought several Disney toys for each kid (as well as pin lanyards and some pins) all on clearance. I put them in my suitcase and handed them out each day (3 days). I also bought a few cute Disney shirts on clearance there too and they wore those for the trip. I still let each kid buy one thing and ended up buying my daughter a shirt because she got wet at the spray area in DCA (I had packed a swim suit, but my mom didn't know that and let her go in with her clothes on.) We did budget and buy mickey ears since it was their first trip.
Thats a good tip. I am going to go to the disneystore on my lunch break and see what they have.

I ordered her autograph book already and almost ordered her her ears, but then canceled her ears because I remember going to the ear shop and picking mine out and watching them put my name on them, and all the excitement that goes with that so ya.

I got her a minnie sweatshirt already, but I want her and I both to have one that says "disneyland 2009" on it. :)

LOL

This is an interesting post. The first trip we went to disneyland.. we spent alot of money on hoodies and souveniers. Then we got our annual passes and now there are some trips we might buy a snack in the park and nothing else. Then there was the trip I bought my father a disneyland railroad pocket watch and my mother a tinkerbell watch she fell in love with. So that was an expensive trip.

But on the whole I don't buy much for myself unless it's something I fall in love with.

With the Disney Store online, i watch their sales and pick up things there throughout the year.

I would say about $250, this time we are taking closer to $500 since itis dd's birthday and we are doing BBB and a few character meals..

Well, for the 3 of us we take $200/day. This is for food, souvies and what ever. Do we spend that amount? No. In fact we came home with half of what we took. It was just nice to have that amount there if we needed or wanted it. There are a lot of things there that I would love to get, but the cheapie in me says,"NO!":lmao: So even though I had the $$$ I still wouldn't get it.:rotfl:

Hmmm something to keep in mind :)

Have you considered trying the character warehouse nearby? You could probably do better on the cost of sweatshirts and t-shirts there. It can be hit or miss though....

What is this "character warehouse" you speak of? We are non residents and the last time I was out there for DL before it was DLR was in 1984. :confused3

Here is the address:

Disney's Character Warehouse Outlet Store
Orangefair Marketplace
243 Orangefair Mall
Fullerton, CA 92832

It is about 10 minutes from DLR. It's park merchandise at discounted prices. It can be hit or miss, but we usually make the effort to drive over and check it out! :)

I think girls ages 4-7 are the hardest to take to Disney because of ALL of the cute princess and pixie stuff. If you can manage to stay out of the World of Disney Store and try to only shop on MainStreet you'll be in better shape$$$$ The Emporium has more clothes than trinkets and that is waht DD is alweays looking for. Oh and the stuffed animals!!! We spend about $500 in the World of Disney store each trip. We try to keep it to one big visit there and use the coupon that comes in the coupon book.
I know that is alot but what we do is save Disney Dollars all year. Santa, the Tooth Fairy and the Easter Bunny bring them. And we ask family and friends who ask what to give her for her birthday to give her gift cards, disney dollars or money. We do not have annual passes and only go about once a year. So this is one of her big vacations

Ouch.. This is going to cost me more than i thought lol! I have been telling family to get her disnye cards. I went to the disney store today to get some
"light up stuff" and they will no longer be carring them. So I have to get that there.. if she even wants it.. she could surprise me.. I already got lots of glow sticks lol. But while I was there they had there pluse sale.. so I paid 14.50 for a minnie doll and got Mickey for free, and then I got $31 in disney dollars. (the $1 is for her scrapbook). disneyland is her big gift from me so I plan on giving her her mickey and minnie, and i have 6 tinkerbell barbies for her, slippers, and I will get her a purse and a wallet and the $30 for it, and I am done lol plus she gets the fun card so she already has almost 100 to shop for herself.
