Yeah I hear ya! I have a tan one that has lots of cool pockets and the mesh vented back but it still gets hot here in FL.

And yes about the hats I need one to keep the sun off my dome but its has to be on backwards so I can use the camera.

I have 3 tan and a black..

this past weekend I was at the PA ren fairre, as I went to take a pic of one of my pirate friends they said "there goes the hat" and laughed. apparently they have figured out when I'm about to take a pic I automatically spin the hat around backwards to the photo position..

I have a good friend that has had the 600mm Nikon lens on order since it was announced last November. He had been recently told not to expect one until after the Olympics.

He got a call this week that he should have one in the next two weeks!

All of the credentialed photogs at the Olympics are required to wear the photo vests- and each vest has a large ID number on the back by which the photog can be identified.

And also it was nice that they provided them all with matching vest for the occasion. What all the dapper young photogs are wearing this season! Wonder if it will start a new trend or make it cool again to wear a vest?

I need a few friends who can afford to order one of those things! Those are around $10,000, IIRC.

Better yet, I wish I could afford one!

That's a big testament to the success of the D3 and the new long Nikon lenses. During the last Olympics, you would have had a much harder time finding non-white lenses. Nikon has done an outstanding job with their latest round of gear.

I noticed that in the pics the yellow writing on the back. Still looks funny to me with all the sea on tan vest
