We are staying for 5 days at the end of August at Portofino Bay. I know exactly how much I am spending on the hotel(including parking) and tickets. I also know how much in gas for the drive down/back and dog kennel for our husky. We live in the northeast. Can't guess how much to budget for meals and souvenirs. We will be doing 5 sitdown meals. Maybe one breakfast. I plan on bring peanut butter, jelly, bread, poptarts, muffins, snacks, water, juice, and soda for our hotel room. Will be doing most breakfasts and lunches at hotel room. Want to do one expensive sit down and then more around average price(probably still expensive) for the other sit downs. No quick fast food places. Also want to know how much to budget for souvenirs and if I should do Universal Gift cards for the kids? Kids are a daughter, age 7, and a son, age 11. Thanks for any advice.

check out damo's sticky about food/meals.

it might help you on food costs and menus

Yes, use the sticky for menu prices. I printed them off for budgeting purposes as well. There are not refrigerators in the rooms for personal use unless you request one (extra charge). As for souvenirs? Well, I spent 900 dollars last time I was there, but I did Christmas shopping. Lots of Potter fans in my family. Since there is a lot of merchandise not available very many places, its better to overestimate. If you have a strict budget, just set it and stick to it. Although it's pretty tough to pass up a chocolate frog or extra butterbeer.
