Ok I kow I'm going to get a lot of diffrent responses. I was planning on bring 1000.00. But I think 800.00 would be fine. But I need to make sure it is enough. So here are expenses. We are going for 10 days and on the QSDP. The girls each have 125.00 of there own money. Some of these things may be less they may only get there facepainted once but I like to over budget. I have 165.00 also in GC from birthday and Christmas to buy myself souviners. Ilike my sweatshirt and ornaments. I already budget for mousekeeping.

1 refill mug we get 3 free but my 2 year old will want her own mug
Girls wanted hairwraps instead of BBB x2
Facepaints x4
Buying the girls each a sweattshirt
Balloon x2
My step sons Fl resident ticket for 3 days I think around 150.00
Airport parking 100.00
My step son and his GF food for 3 days QS food.
Paying op for Crystal Palce for 4 55.00
Garden grill dinner 100.00
T-rex have GC already for that one
Dh t-shirt and mug he usually get this every year

Now that I look at it I think we should bring 1000.00. Maybe I can get my dad to bring us to the airport. That would save me 100.00.

If you can't get your dad to take you to the airport is their cheaper long term lots with a shuttle to the terminals? You could have DH drop everyone off at terminal and go park at one of these and take the shuttle back to the terminal. That might save some money, our LT lots are like $60 a week.

Thanks

I just checked LT lot and it is 12.00. So I actually under budgeted for that.

I did not see a budget item for tips if you plan on leaving any. I would take all you can afford to take, just in case, but I do know on our first trip to WDW, I took $1000 and had plenty of money left over and this was before Disney offered DDP.

One way I manage money is I make an envelope for each item that I KNOW I will be spending money one ie your refillable mugs, sweatshirts etc. I put the amount of cash into that envelope, mark it as such and pack. With the left over spending money, I divide that into the number of days I will there and in my case travel/gas money as we drive. I make an envelope for each day, that way I limit myself on daily spending and do not go over by accident. I put the envelopes in the room safe and only take the envelopes needed for that day out each morning. I sometimes put the extra money not spent into the last park day envelope, then if there is something I really want, I can get it on the last day if I have budgeted well.

In short, I would think $1000 would be enough with a tad left over if you do not splurge badly.

Good luck and tell us how you did upon your return.

Thanks for the resonses. I did get my dad to bring us to the airport so that is 120.00 saved.

Are you talking about how much actual CASH to bring or how much to budget?

You can always budget $1,000 and be thrilled if you only spend $800. Cash, close to none.

Guess I am not in the "normal" group. We always have a package and do the DDP so we rarely spend much of anything.

Granted there are only 2 of us but this last trip which was only a quick trip of 3 nights/4days we spent less than $100 and most of that was tips for meals and mousekeeping. $35 for tips for meals, $5 a day for mousekeeping ($15) a quick lunch in the airport on the way $15, a few bottles of soda $20. That's about it.
Not to big on souvineers, so I guess if you are big shoppers it will be a different story.

I know it has been a while since I ate at the Crystal Palace, but can four of you really eat for $55? If so, I need to go there on my next trip! :cool1:

I think they're paying for 2 adults and 1 child for breakfast. I think the other child is under 3 years old. That adds up to $54.

To the OP, make sure you set aside money for tips. I haven't added everything on your list up, but see you don't have money set aside for tips for your dining so keep that in mind.

Yes that is the right math 2 adults,1 child and 1 under 3. We already have mousekeeping tips. I did forget to add the tip to the CP breakfest but did add it to the Garden Grill figure. I will probably factor in 50.00 for misc tips. My step son Gf isn't coming now. His room is paid for also.

So here is my new breakdown

Crystal palace 70.00
Garden Grill 100.00
T-rex have GC
Step sons 3 day fL resident ticket 150.00 He is only doing t-rex with us
Hairwraps x2 80.00
Facepaints x4 60.00
Airport parking 0
Sweatshirts for the girlsx2 not sure how much these are I thinking 40.00
Mics tips 50.00
Step sons food for 3 days 100.00
Dh t-shirt and mug gets this evey year

Ok girls have there own money they each have 105.00 now. I was going to give them each a extra 20.00 but I think I will just hold off on that. We are pretty much paying for everyting but if they want a stuffy or a trinket they will have to pay for that.

Another thing I do even tho we are on the DDP, I check the menus for the restaurants we are going to eat at, sort of guess what the family member will most likely order and make my tip envelopes up based on my best guess, then when the bill comes to the table I double check my tip amount and add as needed. Tip, if you do that, don't forget to add in the price of beverages, I did once and was always having to add money and could not figure out why I was off even on fixed price restaurants.:confused3

As you can tell, I go thru a lot of envelopes, but just need to make sure before I leave my house I have enough for NEEDED items and some for extras. The first time we went to WDW, I fretted over the money, kept a tight hold of every expense had so much left over at the end. But I could not relax when it came to the money. Then when planning our first trip using DDP, such a relief for me, but still I organize all expenses using envelopes to include gas expenses for the drive. Silly I know, but we do NOT use credit cards, I have one I use for rental car and that is all it is used for.

Do the kids like pressed pennies? Bring a sleeve of quarters and pennies.
