:sad2: Is there anyway for me to know how much memory (RAM) I can add to my computer? This computer sucks and now I know why...only 256 MB of RAM. Do I need to open it to see if there are slots for adding or is there a file that will tell me this?

Sorry, if that sounds dumb, I really have no clue about these things! :sad2:

if it's a PC rather than a Mac, it depends on the capabilities of the motherboard.

OEMPCWORLD has a link on their homepage ("Check your system") that will scan your PC and tell you its maximum memory capacity. The scan will also suggest memory upgrade options.

I've bought memory upgrades for two different machines from them - they have decent prices, or at least they did in the past. ;)

Thanks! It recommends 1GB, but says I can do 2000 something MB, which means I can go up as high as a 2GB right?

2048K or 2Gb of RAM. You need to find out, by looking at your current memory chip(s) what type of ram you currently have DDR2, SDRAM etc; should be on the chip itself. Then add or replace it with the same. Based upon what I hear if you eventually decide to use Windows Vista you may want to bite the bullet an get 2GB of it will run with 1GB but slower.
