Whats the most luggage you have gone over ther with or came back with. There is 3 of us going over and we are taking 2 big cases and 3 medium cases. Lots of shopping :cool1:

There's 4 of us and we all take a medium size case and hand luggage each. We take a spare case inside one of the other's.

For the 3 of us, 2 huge suitcases,1 meduim, 1 wheeled luggage bag, which we got from wal mart its huge, bigger than our suitcases, along with hand luggage,we usually buy another luggage bag whilst out there lol...

Well considering my wife packs enough stuff for a week when we just go to Sainsburys, I dread to think how much she'll pack this time for a fortnight.....

3 large suitcase's. I am planning to buy a lot of essentials over there this time.

How do you get on with your baggage allowance? We have booked with Thomas Cook and the allowance is only 15kg each!

We went with Thomas Cook the time before last and struggled with the luggage allowance :sad2: .
Some airlines allow you to pay extra up front for an extra allowance.
This time we went with Virgin who allow 2 x 32kg cases each!!
We went with 4 between the 3 of us and had to buy 2 more from Walmart to come home :rolleyes1

Cazzie, I couldn't! I'm used to a 64kg allowance with Virgin. I honestly don't think I could manage!

For a family of four we take 2 medium sized suitcases, one large and a holdall that hold lots!! We only take 2 full on the way out and come back with them all full :)

Even with all the cases we came back with I only got a t shirt and nightshirt!
The two extra bags we bought were for DD and DH's 'toys'!! ;) :teeth:

I am not sure I would use Thomas Cook again, we were told by the travel agent that it was 20kg but they have dropped it to 15kg, we thought we would be going with their own airline too but it ends up being Britannia :confused3 Still I shall just have to take less clothes than normal :sad2:

Ah well, it'll be warm so you won't need that many anyway ;)
Couple of pairs of shorts and 3 or 4 t shirts - that's what I always tell myself......before I begin struggling to fasten the cases! :rolleyes1
I was reading on one of the other threads of people just packing one day's clothes, other than what they're wearing to travel, and then nipping to the mall :goodvibes. Pretty sure I couldn't manage that one :teeth:

Sounds like my kind of idea :cool1:

We take 2 large suitcases with 2 medium sized suitcases inside them, then we also have a holdall with all our toiletries in which we empty and use as a spare (just in case - so to speak) :teeth:

15kg is pathetic! Doesn't even cover our handluggage for 3 of us! Makes you wonder what sort of aircraft they're using . . . Piper Cherokees??? If I was you Cazzie, I'd make this my first and last time going charter. You're being sold short bigtime!! We will be taking 3 large Samsonite-type cases and 2 large holdalls for our upcoming trip. Only one case will have stuff in it on the way out. The other two will be full of one holdall each!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

:cool1:

I know some airlines are clamping down on luggage weight, last time we went to the Algarve they weighed my hand luggage and made me empty some into my suitcase :sad2:

I have decided that I won't take any beach towels (for the pool) but will buy some out there and leave them as they can weigh heavy. I am just going to have to cut down on how many clothes DH is taking ;)

For Dh and i 2 large cases and one large empty holdall bag. We are going with travel city direct and paid £15 each to upgrade luggage allowance to 40kg each - brilliant!! After last year, i know we'll need it.

I will have to look and see if we can do that, someone has told me that the allowance is so low as it is a charter flight :confused3

Depending on where you're staying you may well not need towels for the pool.
All 3 hotels we stayed in, both on and off site, provided them daily.

For 2 adults we have one large case and one medium case. I bring a flat holdall inside case for coming back just in case. I find it easier somewhere like Florida because I know it will be warm, and also I don't need "dressy" clothes. It's harder when you need to bring jackets, dressy clothes/shoes to match etc
