How Much is your 2015 Vacation going to cost you?

June 5th-12th
3 adults, 2 kids
Polynesian
6 day base ticket
Roundtrip airfare
No dining plan
$5800
Not too Shabby...plane tickets were $1800 :sad2::sad2::sad2:

I always budget around my estimated Federal Tax refund. Yes, I know, not a smart thing to give Uncle Sam an interest free loan, but whatever. You can't take it with you.

4 adults 1 child

Airline, Disney resort, admission: $3,600

Food, souvenirs: $1,000

Memories: Priceless

Ours is a little tricky:

8 nights at BLT
Annual dues: $823
Dues plus 1/50th of the buy in is about $1200

Flight
SW Credit card rewards points, so $30 in fees round trip
Actual price of flights for 3: $800

Tickets
1 infant
2 of us have 5 day hoppers purchased years ago. Cost to upgrade both to DVC AP $240
If you want to include the initial purchase price of the tickets, that is another $595 for both of us.

Then we still have food and souvenirs (maybe another $1000 total)

I just like the fact that over the next 6 months, all I'm really paying for is the dues/ticket upgrades/flight fees/food for a total of about $2100. Not bad at all..

Grand Villa at BLT (10 of us are going): free! (well, using out DVC points that are already paid for)

Park passes: free! Using our APs that we bought last August. We also used them this past Nov. and are going to use them in Oct too! All total we will have gotten approx. 25 days admission out of these passes. Well worth it with the DVC discount.

Food: approx. $300/day for my family (not including those traveling with us). We get 20% off at table service restaurants with the Tables in Wonderland card.

Souvenirs: each child gets a $50gc to spend

Airfare from Philly: approx. $1200

Grand total for a week: $3400:yay:

Not bad!

Just curious, how is your airfare $1200 from Philly, is that for only part of the group?

Our vacation is two adults one child...

April 11-18, 2015

7 nights at the Contemporary in Std Atrium club level w/7 day park tickets (no hoppers)
Booked through Disney $5,641.13

Flight expenses(including non-stops, w/early check-in, parking for a week and food at the airport, gas for the car) $1,328

Food at Disney - $1200 (budgeted based on research into pricing and estimates of most breakfast at CL, lunches ever day at QS, dinner every night at TS, snacks during the day, based on how my family eats this is close to right on)

Misc - clothes for vacation, Go-Pro camera, memory maker, tips for hotel staff, porters, a delivery of some sort, water and protein drinks for dh to the resort, a BBB apt & spending $1,500 budgeted

So a grand total of (over $9k)...

Don't love it, but it's what I'm willing to spend... I could stay cheaper, I choose not to... :confused3

Originally booked our Spring Break 2015 trip for two adults in September and paid $3266.20 for 4 nights at BWI and 5 day Magic Your Way tickets w/park hopper option. We secured our airfare for $1411.00 (1st class - our Christmas present) so the grand total was $4677.20. J

Just got a refund of $861.20 by requesting a modification of our reservation at WDW to take advantage of their recent "Spring Resort" promotion. That should cover our food and miscellaneous while there! :cool1:

Canadian Prices
Travel Dates April 29 - May 22 2015

Total Package cost was $8375 US so $10038.27 CND.. that includes 14 nights at POR in the Royal Guest Room, 10 day tickets with water park and park hoppers, Disney Dining Plan (1 table, 1 quick, 1 snack) and then 3 nights at Universal Hard Rock Garden view room, 2 day tickets with a 3rd free and our transfers to Universal and from there to MCO. This is for 2 adults and 1 9 year old.

We are flying out of Seattle, our flights were $1567 and change, would have cost us $2800 to fly out of Victoria and an additional 4 hours. So I have budeted $2500 for Misc charges ie travel to seattle (ferry, hotel, parking, gas, food), food at Universal, Car rental for 1 day (Beach Day), BBB (castle package), clothes in seattle (disney outlet store plus new summer clothes for DD) Cash, Tips, and mole skin, body glide, sunscreen, ponchos etc.

Lastly I am budgeting $2000 for souvenirs. We are buying our daughter a $100 gift card and thats her, we are pin collectors so we will buy a few of those and then because we are from Canada we do like to pick up some products that we can't get here (mostly beauty products for myself)

TOTAL $17000 Canadian.

I wonder what the average length of stay and the average cost is, just on this thread? I was actually kind of astonished how many people spend close to 10k dollars on their Disney Vacation. Wow! Lots of fortunate families in that situation.

We are fortunate. We are also hard-working and penny-pinching (in some areas).

We haven't had a vacation since 2011. So I don't think that $8000 over 4 years is that out of line. Not everyone taking an expensive vacation does it every year.
Also, we have 5 people in our family...everything is more expensive for us.

We are residents, so the only expense we usually have is our hotel. 2 adults and 1 teen.

We have an upcoming trip where we will be coming in from our home up north, so this time we have air, but Amex points covered that. So ...

I guess $100 for limo from airport
$1700 for 6 nights in a suite at AoA (I had a princess room booked at POR for $1,000, but gave it up for the extra bath in the suite).

I didn't include tickets because we are resident passholders. We don't budget for food. Whatever we spend, we spend.

When traveling from home, we usually stay every other weekend, or twice a month is probably more accurate, and spend about $1,000 on hotel and food each time.

You can have a really wonderful on-site vacation and not spend a fortune. You'll enjoy your trip more knowing you made wonderful memories without breaking the bank (of course I realize that's relative to your own personal financial situation)

Travel Dates 4/13-4/20 7 nights Monday-Monday for 2 adults and a 12 month old

Airfare from Long Island on Southwest - Round Trip for 2 adults 1 lap child= $450

7 nights Port Orleans Riverside Garden View- $1,080 (through Orbitz.com)

2 six day magic your way base tickets- $643

TOTAL: $2,173

I'd estimate we'll spend another $550 on food and souvenirs.

Now, as a Disney Travel agent I do have the opportunity to save more money than that and receive a 6 day park hopper with water parks and more ticket for $213. We could also stay at Port Orleans French Quarter for $800 for 7 nights at a TA discount rate. We could also save money using credit card points toward our flights, bringing our vacation total for 7 nights (flights, park tickets, hotel) down to:

$1,678!

Travel dates 1/25/15-1/31/15

1 adult + 3 Disney adults + 1 child

6 nights at the Caribbean Beach Resort Standard view room
+
Quick Service Dining plan

= $1,914 with Florida resident discount

5 Florida resident weekday annual passes down payment totals $540

Gas will be about $140

total = $2,590

Will be paying $50 per month for the rest of the year for the annual pass installment plan, but that cost will go towards the cost of our next vacation in November or early December.

We could have saved money without the dining plan, but my boys are in the weird "I'm a teenager or close to it, and I am too cool for kid's meals" phase, plus it was easier to put it all on a no-interest card and pay it off over the next few months instead of dealing with paying it all now and bringing credit cards, etc. to the parks with me. I am notorious for losing things. :)
