Here in NY, we have some nice options to help with the budget.

1. Lock into a price in the spring for the full year. That way you get a capped dollar amount.
2. Go on a budget plan. You spend the same amount for the year, but you pay over the course of the year.

Ugh. Just got a delivery yesterday and it was $3.79 a gallon here in southern NH. So happy Spring is here!

2. Go on a budget plan. You spend the same amount for the year, but you pay over the course of the year. You do pay a set amount each month, but at the end of your contract year you may end up owing ALOT of money if you under budgeted!

My DH checked our tank last week, and panicked because the gauge said "empty". He called and got 150 gallons delivered, at $3.45 a gallon.

Got home, checked the tank, and noticed the gauge never moved. The gauge was broken, and we weren't on empty. We didn't need that 150 gallons, but oh well. We should be good now, until Fall.

In the meantime, we need to replace that gauge....

I'm in Southern NH. We use natural gas, but I go by a home heating fuel company on the way to work. Advertised price today was $3.89

The absolute irony about this. DH is the oilman. The cost of their oil is about $3.60/gal.
