How Much Is A 5ft-6ft Live Tree Going For This Year?

I just got a 7 foot frasier fir for $35 at home depot - same tree was going for $75 at the nursery! I don't know why they're so expensive here in NJ - we do have tree farms!

It's a small place over in Old Lyme. If you want directions, just let me know.

Thanks, that would be a hike for me though, we're near New Haven. We went to Home Depot this year. I think if I tried to get a tree back from Old Lyme it would probably fall off the roof of the car before we got home!:rotfl2:

My DH just paid $60 for a 6 ft. Frazier fir. I thought that was high, but he went to two places and that was the going rate. He chose the vendor that had the trees in buckets of water and not just propped up and thirsty.

Went to a Cut-Your-Own last Sunday. It was $40 for any size or type.

I love the tradition of finding just the right one and letting the kids cut it down. I grew up with artificial, couldn't wait to get a place of my own to have a real tree. I'll never have a fake one again until I go into a nursing home.

We got a 6 1/2 foot Frasier Fir for $30 at Lowe's,it's a good tree except for some reason it has no smell?

We got our 7 footer for $30 at Home Depot. The cut it yourself place was also $30 and the tree lot's trees were $85 for the same tree. The Home Depot tree is nice and full, with strong branches. The smell is still incredible after 2 weeks.

We did not cut our own but got it at a local nursery that has trees (here in central Massachusetts). It is over 6 feet and we paid 39.99 (and they give a free Poinsettia plant with purchase too at this place!).

My husband and I have been going to the same tree farm for over 22 years. As a child my Dad took us to the same farm. In the past, we used to cut the trees down. Recently, we check the pre-cut lot first. I feel like I'm giving a Charlie Brown tree a good home. This year we drove up and saw a tree in the corner that might work. Sure enough, that's the tree we went with. It took us about five minutes. This year the pre-cut lot had quite a few good ones. It cost $15.00 and is my avatar.

I think I have heard about that place. My husband mentioned that to me & I nixed the idea. We go to a place in Killingworth because I like big places with too many choices.

Wowza that's a lot for trees in some places! Here in Oregon you can get a Christmas Tree permit for $5.00 and go out in the forest and choose and cut your own. :thumbsup2

We just did that for the first time this year. We have a nice artificial that we bought a few years ago because we didn't have a vehicle to haul a tree in. We have both up this year.

When I was growing up, we used to go to a cut-your-own farm and it was $15-$45 depending on the type you cut.
