How much for Souvenir expense?

We spent less than $150, but I don't like them, personally. A few tshirts and pins.

Just there and I found the prices on souveniers have gone up...a lot...there are a few things we buy on each trip as a tradition and have noticed they've gone up. Like resort ornaments, $17.00!!! I know I've not paid this in the past. The other thing we buy each time is little spiral photo albusms to put our pictures in for each kid and they went up to $9 a piece. Just noticing an increase on a lot of items. Also, trading pins have really gone up too. When we first started, the majority were 6.95 now the majority are 8.95 and the special edititon pins are 10.95/12.95.
We spent a lot more than I wanted to as this was a budget trip for us, but the majority was on pins since that is what we love most.

We are going in June (5 months) I told my kids 7 & 11 that if they save there monthly allowance for 5 months (11dollars a month) I will double it. I took empty formula containters, cut a slit in the lid and wrapped it in butcher paper. I had each of the boys to draw disney stuff on it and that would be there WDW bank. I think it is important to teach your kids to save for things that they want, not just have it handed to them. So by june, my boys will have 110.00 to spend on whatever they want. I do not get a say in it at all. Then I will also buy them each a T-shirt.

Depends on what you like to buy and what sales are going on! We buy a Christmas ornament and a coffee mug every trip. When we were there are New Year's both were 40% off. They also had selected clothing 40% throughout the parks

For DS it varies, but this year he wanted both the monorail and castle playsets...that added up to about 150.00. But, it was his birthday and those were his gifts from Mama and Daddy :) He also asked for several smaller items throughout the trip but they were under 10.00 each. I think overall we spent 300 and that was a lot for us!

We allow each of our kids to buy one thing that is around $20. We also let them spend about $5 at Goofy's Candy Company. DH and I buy one ornament for our Christmas tree and that is all we spend on souvenirs. I think everyone is different in the amount that they spend on that kind of stuff. If you are flying, you need to remember that you have to get the stuff home too.
Enjoy your trip.

I am doing alot of buying ahead of time and packing it in DH and my suitcases to surprise the kids.

Hit the local disney store Saturday and got 11 t-shirts for just under $46.
In the process of making autographs books.
Also got a bunch of glo necklaces and bracelets.
Still watching for stuffed toys or beanies to go on sale.

The less I spend at Disney the more I have to plan our next trip!:cheer2:

I bought glow sticks at the Dollar Tree...alot, in case there are some duds. These are great for the night programs.

I purchased lots of pins on Ebay for trading so that I wouldn't be coerced (!!) into buying lots of $10 and $12 pins.

My parents are going with us this year and I can't imagine they will spend half of their $200 gift card so hopefully they will share it with the kids!

When we went with our kids (DD8 and DS10 at the time) we budgeted $50 per day for each day in a park for each of them. They didn't end up spending all of their money though. My DH and I spent under $100 for the two of us the whole time we were there too. I think that $600 is a good amount considering the ages of your kids. I wouldn't budget any less though. It'll give you a little cushion incase one of them wants something that is a littel pricey. :thumbsup2
