I have done the ING thing, I have sold my Blood @ Plasma Centers, I have had Yard Sales, I have Mystery Shopped, I have Rolled Coins, I have Stuffed Envelopes...

But...

I am still short!!!

How much can I get for a Kidney???

but seriously, im in the same situation. i think im gonna push my needle problems aside and go with the plasma center idea. i like that. very smart.

I think the going rate according to CSI Las Vegas the other night is $40,000 for a kidney...that should last you a day or two at Disney!

I have a couple of emails in my in box from very earnest people in Nigeria. A small investment to help them move some money out of their country will apparently net you millions.

After all, you only have one kidney, but there are hundreds of Nigerians that are very wealthy, but in a tight spot.

By the way, most of us have two kidneys, so you really do have one to spare!! DS was born with just the one and he is doing fine. Of course, that 5 to 7 year sentence is quite a deterent!

Summerluv--they pay like $20 per time and you can do it twice a week. The problem I have and what holds me back from doing it is that they put the blood back IN after they take the plasma out. Ishy

Sending money to Nigera will NOT land you in the slammer... you don't normally get jailed for being stupid enough to give your money away. LOL!

I don't know why you can't sell your kidney...for $40,000 I'd be right there...and I think you could probably sell part of your liver too...I've heard that if you have part of a healthy liver the remainder will regenerate. I've never thought of the plasma thing...how do they get the blood back in...I am VERY squeamish, but the thought of $160 extra per month to put aside for vacations is wonderful. We're booked on the EB repo cruise...that $160/month would pay about half of our onboard expenses...and I'd be helping people at the same time !

They put a needle in each arm... one needle draws the blood out and it passes thru a machine to withdraw the plasma and then the blood gets pumped back into you thru the other arm... it takes a lot longer than giving blood and I thought it was a little more painful than donating blood.

I didn't know that they paid you for it, though... I did it once as part of a drive for a co-worker with cancer.

I donated plasma one time. It does take longer than blood. I was under the weight limit at the time (they didn't check) and got wiped out for two days, it was like having the flu. I got dehydrated and everything. I got $30.00, but ended up paying a $10.00 co pay to go to the Dr. to find out why I was so weak!
