How much exercise is enough? Really.

How much exercise to you think is enough? I think I heard a recommendation that you need 1 hour of exercise every day. I can't do it! I exercise 5 days a week - 30 to 45 minutes each day. How much do you all exercise each week?

I get in about 30-40 minutes 3-4 times a week. So far that is enough for me to help in my weight loss. I imagine that as I get fitter and thinner, it will take me much more to lose.

My friend has been on WW and exercising for 2 years. It used to be that a 2-3 mile walk was good enough for her weight loss. Now she has to put in about 7 miles to see any effect. Yikes.

Anything is better than nothing, which is what my philosophy is. As long as your heart rate gets going.

I work out 6-7 days per week. During the work week I do 30-40 minutes per day and on the weekend I do 45-50 minutes per day. I alternate between cardio only and cardio and weight training exercises with the Firm. I love it! I do wonder how much I'll have to do to maintain once I get to where I want to be and I imagine I'll cut it down to 4-5 days per week. I love the exercise "high" you get from working out and hate to take a rest day.

I'm not sure. I'm maintaining and I exercise 6 days a week anywhere between 30 and 1 and a half hours. I think it depends on your body, intensity level and all of that.

First of all-- Congrats on the 30-45 minutes a day five times a week!!

If you are seeing results that you are happy with, then sick with it. There will come a point where you plateau or slow down in terms of weight loss as your fitness level goes up. Your two choices then are to go longer or crank up the intensity.

Don't get discouraged by what some say you should do. What you are doing right now is wonderful.

I do a walk/run interval program on the treadmill 6 days a week. I could probably get away with only doing 45 minutes, but I don't feel as good as when I go for an hour.
