A local newspaper near me charges 25.00 to put black an white photo in paper with anniversary an wedding announcment. 40.00 for a full color photo I think this is outrageous for a picture to be in paper 1 day.

I just put a birth announcement in the paper (small local paper) along with a color photograph and it cost nothing at all. I submitted the information and photo online and it was in today's paper.

The Daily Herald (a Chicago suburban newspaper) charges $95 for a 1/4 page wedding/anniversary announcement with photo (b/w only).

The Washington Post charges up to $240 per day for the picture plus $10 a line for death notices.

Our daily charged $300 a day for the small black and white picture in my mother's obituary. The obituary itself was a separate charge.

Another Daily Herald person from the Chicago area. With the Internet news sources zapping $$$ from print publications, I imagine they're looking for ways to somehow bring in revenue and remain solvent.
