How much does your local zoo charge?

We buy a yearly pass to the Phoenix Zoo. Well worth it for us. Our pass lets in 3 adults and 4 Children. Thats $66 if we use up the entire 'pass'. We go two times and it is paid of. We just went yesterday w/friends.

We get into the zoo lights, and other zoos around the US for free or a considerable discount. We got 6 free passes on top of our membership.

Funny thing, I think the Phoenix Zoo was soooo much better then the San Diego zoo. San Diego the animals seem to be in cages more (like the lions and tigers and species of the cat family). Here they are out in the open. San Diego was much bigger but....

Parking is free. However yesterday it was so full.... our friends didn't stay. They could not find parking :( BUT once we got inside... it had people, but not a LOT. Looking at the parking lot I was sure it would be wall to wall. But nope.

Tampa has Lowry Park Zoo. It's $16.95 to get in. It's a good zoo, but I don't visit often.

Our zoo in OKC is also a top rated zoo. Parking is free admission is $7 for adults, $4 for children and seniors, 2 and under free.

I have a zoo pass which is me and one guest for about $40 a year. My moms grandparents pass (2 adults and up to 5 children) is around $70.

The thing I like about the pass besides the unlimited entrance is that I get discounts to other zoos.:thumbsup2

If you want to check out our zoo go to

Another big fan of the ST. LOUIS ZOO here!! Even though it is free we still by a family pass for around $70/year. The kids each get a postcard for a free meal, parking is free in the lots, train rides and the childrens zoo are then free too.

If you go for just a day trip, you can buy an armband for $12 which covers all of the "fee" items. But, there is plenty to do without paying a cent at the St. Louis zoo.

Best bargain we got last visit was facepainting for $2. Wow! My DS4 didn't want the paint on his face so he opted to have it on his hand.

The PHilly zoo is $17 a person and $10 to park.

As for membership at Brookfield Zoo, there are many different levels. The mentioned ones are the "family plus" and is what I have. There is a individual plan as well.

My all time favorite zoo is the San Diego Zoo.

So I sucked it up and went to the zoo. Lots of people which was to be expected. I had a great time though, between the animals and people watching, it was quite an experience. I'm thinking I need to get an individual annual pass. We had family passes in the past and we really enjoyed going to special events and members night.

Piglet too, yeah the North lot is still gravelly and full of potholes. It looked like parts were somewhat paved.

11.50 per Adult Child 3 and up 6.75....don't know about parking.

The Louisville Zoo is $10.95 ages 12 and up, $7.95 ages 2-11 (2 and under is free, 60+ is $8.95), parking is free. We're considering getting a zoo membership which is $60 total for two named adults (or one named and one guest). The membership also gives us a 50% discount on admission at the Cincinnati Zoo for times we decided to make a day trip over.

We were both born and raised in Chicago, so Lincoln Park Zoo was where it was at for us, but I've become pretty disappointed in how the zoo is being managed and the controversy that has arisen with the wellbeing of their animals. It was definitely the "ghetto" zoo of the city. I have heard it's been changing for the better. We've rarely driven there, though...it's the bus for us. Though, if you're going with a group, it may still be cheaper to just pay for parking. LPZ is still a sentimental spot for me, however...DH proposed to me at the lagoon right outside the zoo. All that said, we do really enjoy Brookfield Zoo.

Oh, if you haven't been to LPZ lately, then you should try it again... I hadn't been in years, and I was pleasently surprised last year when we went. We're acutally thinking of going this week! It seems like they've really improved a lot!

LOL!! You were like 1 mile from me today! My parents live that close to the zoo, right off of Ogden Ave. in the next town over... It was just beautiful out today though. Hope you had a great day there!

Most of the prices you guys have listed seem downright cheap to me! The Maryland Zoo (formerly called the Baltimore Zoo) charges $15 admission ($10 for kiddies). If we feel like braving 495 and DC, we can drive an extra hour and get into the National Zoo for free, but who feels like doing that, lol.

With so many of us in the DC area, maybe we should have a "DIS'in at the National Zoo" Meet :teeth: .

agnes!

It's a beautiful day here in Chicago, so I figured I'd go wander around the zoo for a while. Got on their website to find out what they charge to get in, etc. It's $8.00 to park my car and $10.00 to get in the gate!! Now I don't mind the $10.00, it's the $8.00 to put my car in a gravel parking lot with potholes in it!!!

So what does your zoo charge?

Ahh, Brookfield! Such a fun, time honored tradition.

$28.00 just for us to get in, then more for the children's zoo, dolphin show, carousel, butterfly garden, motor coach, overpriced food, and gift shop.

I've never, ever left there for less than $50. It's a nice zoo, and membership saves some money, but it's darn costly!

The last time I went to the Philly zoo a few years ago it was :

around $10.00 to park in a gravel lot. There used to be free parking on the street near the zoo-- but the area where the Philly zoo is iffy on a good day. On a bad day, its just dangerous.

I think the entrance to the zoo is about $12 /adults.

Well--Dopey Sharon just posted the prices for Philly zoo-- I didn't realize it was $16 for adults and $13 for kids.

THE ZOO OF NORTHWEST FLORIDA IS:

Price of Admission

$8.25 Children (3-11)

$11.50 Adults (12-61)

$10.50 Seniors (62-up)

(Children 2 and under are Free!)

I'm working there tomorrow (Tuesday) first time in a year and a half to help on the train. They are really short handed right now because of spring break. Hope I remember the script! :rolleyes1
