How much does the Disneyland hotel preauthorize?

Quick question. I know that in Disneyworld they preauthorize an set amount of money on your credit card based on the hotel you are staying at. We are going to Disneyland in a few days staying at the Disneyland hotel and was just wondering if off the top of your head anyone knew how much they hold on your credit card. Thanks

Well we're staying @ the PP one night in Dec. and I've already been charged for that one night ~ I wasn't expecting this so when I called the lady explained that they charge 1 night when the stay is booked and since my stay is one night it's already paid for. I don't mind ~ it's one more thing that's already paid for.

LOL no problem. We went last december and had a blast!! Our hotel and hoppers are paid for already but I just wasn't sure how much they would hold on my cc at check in

We were just at the GCH and they preauthorized the amount of the room plus tax and resort fee - nothing else was preauthorized. I know in Canada they usually preauthorize some amount to account for things charged to the room, so I was a bit surprised by that.

I just did a 3-night stay at PPH three weeks ago, and since I booked through Central Reservations, they only required one night's deposit at the time of booking PLUS 15% tax for that one night up front. Of course, I could pay more than that if I chose to, but I paid one night plus 15% tax. If you don't pay anything else before arrival, then due at the time of arrival will be the remaining nights' total PLUS 15% tax for each of those nights AS WELL AS the resort fee, which is $12 per night PLUS 15% tax for each night. Yes, they tax the resort fee per night too! I booked through Central last year, too, and generally, they only have you pay the resort fee when you arrive and not in advance, although if you book through the Walt Disney Travel Company (and not Central), which I did in December, the total they charge you includes the resort fee and tax but you have to have it all paid 30 days prior to arrival. Booking through Central is better because you can literally pay everything but one night + tax at the time you show up, and you get a full refund of your money if you cancel 5 days or more prior to arrival.

Just dropping in of the DL boards as I am going in June, I think the OP means at WDW they give you a charging limit when charging to the room, for example I stayed at Animal Kingdom Lodge in June and I was able to charge up to $1500 to my room if you go over that they then charge it to your credit card and you begin again at $1500. The cost of the room is not included in that $1500 and WDW does not pre authoirze or put a hold on credit cards in advance.

Ahhh...okay, that makes sense with what the OP was asking. Thanks for clearing that up, Tozzie! You know, I don't know what my charging limit was for my recent stay at PPH or my stay last year at GCH. They definitely attached my card to the room/account for charging privileges, but if they told me what my limit was, I didn't hear it! I never used it anyway, so I guess it didn't occur to me to find out!
